Very pretty and great for cosplay!

I was hesitant to purchase this based off of some of the reviews, but honestly it worked out extremely well! I am 5’10” 168 lbs and the dress fit just fine. I wore shapewear with it and it still fit nicely. I wish the dress fell to the floor (it only hit my ankles) but I’m on the taller side so I expected that. The sleeves are nice and long and the dress is very comfortable and pretty. The red parts of the dress are more orange than red but it still looks great and is immediately recognizable. There were a few loose threads that I had to cut when the dress arrived, but it survived the day at my job and the Halloween parties/events I went to. You really have to be doing strenuous work/crazy running around for this dress to get damaged. It still looks lovely after wearing it for long periods of time. I’ll definitely be wearing it again at my local Renaissance Faire and conventions! I felt very pretty in it; Arwen is one of my favorite LoTR characters and I felt like the dress really allowed me to emulate her. The dress is worth the price, especially if you can’t afford a custom-made one like me!????

Looks amazing from a distance, but construction is a little haphazard – fits a bra size of about 34

From a distance this dress looks amazing. The jewel tones of the crushed velvet fabric are beautiful and the lace and gold trim is bright and sparkly. But up close you can see some problems with the construction. Seams are misaligned, gobs of loose threads everywhere, unraveling ribbon, and decorative trims not sewn flat but instead have lots of bunching. But this is just a costume, so construction quality is about par for what you normally get. Size-wise it fits a little strange. I am tall, about 5’8-1/2” and this dress hits me about 3 inches above my ankle. I normally wear in size 8, I’m small boned, wear a 34 A bra, and this dress is extremely tight in the chest. The waist is a good fit, and there is lots of room at the hips, but the neck line is much too wide. This is supposed to fit off the shoulders, but this thing actually falls off my shoulders. The neckline is even too wide to stay on a hanger. I had to put a dart in the back so it would stay on my shoulders. But like I said this dress is beautiful, so I don’t mind having to make a few modifications to get it to stay on. But be warned --- if your bust size is any bigger than 34 inches this dress probably won’t fit.

Pretty but defective

I wish I could give this five stars. It is super pretty. I think it would fit most women from size 4-10. It fits me a little weird. I have an awkward body shape though. I am very pear shaped. I am probably a size 4-6 on top and a 10-12 on bottom. And my torso is short. I am only 5'1. so the hips were a little tight. But with a little shapewear it looks great. The reason I am docking two stars is the dress itself. The first dress I received was damaged. It had a little tear in the back, so I requested a new one and amazon asked me to send the first back. I waited to send it in case there was something wrong with the second since I needed the dress. The second was AWFUL. There was a huge hole in the front of the dress, the seams were all over the place, and it was completely sewn together haphazardly. I emailed amazon, who is always awesome, and asked if I could just send the second back and receive a discount of the first. They gave me 20% off and I just will sew up the tear. I bought it for $42 and the price is down to $36 now so I didn't save much. But it was something! And it is a really pretty dress that I think will fit most people. Just check it when you get it! I would also say its probably for shorter girls. I would say anyone taller than like 5'6 would find this too short.

Good quality costume and looks like the real thing

This costume is very authentic and well made. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because when I tried it on it smelled like body odor. Someone must have worn it and returned it after the wire it. I washed it and it came out nicely, so I was pleased with that. Overall it is a very nice costume.

Sleeves are a bit orange, but overall a great buy!

Overall I think it's great! The red part is a bit more orangey than you'd expect. I normally wear a size 0 to 2 and am 5'6 1/2 and I felt that the fit was quite flattering and the length was perfect for me. It is more of a Halloween type of costume but the material was decently heavy and didn't feel especially cheap. I'm excited to take some nicer photos with it once my ears come in!

Beautiful! Very much like in the movie

Great for the price! Huge LOTR fan and have wanted this dress for years. I am a dress size 8 and it fits perfect. If you are any larger than an 8 it will not fit. Giving it 4 stars because I wish it was a tad longer. I am 5’4” and it barely touches the floor but I guess that’s a good thing for walking around a lot and not having to hold it up.

Good Renfest costume

Decent costume for the price. There was a slight tear in the lace but it's not very noticeable. I bought this costume for the Renaissance Festival and it seemed to be a hit. The length is okay, I'm 5'8 it hits the top of my ankles which is good when walking around in mud but I wished it was an inch or two longer. I typically wear between a size 4 and size 6 and this costume fit really well. The sleeves are great in that they are long enough to cover my hands when at my sides.

Horrible quality, but for the price I suppose I'll keep it and fix it

Wow, I'm not sure why there are so many reviews with 4 stars and above, but for the price I paid I can't complain too much. The sewing isn't completed, especially with the collar lace part. The band of lace on the sleeves are unaligned. The collar lace part is also lop-sided. There will be a lot of fixing I have to do to this dress, but I suppose the plus side is that for $23 I get all the material needed to make a costume... In addition to the horrible assembly of the dress, the colors are all wrong. The 'black' dress is a actually a navy blue and the 'red' sleeves are actually orange. It is not a red-tinted orange; it is straight up orange.

Pretty, small fit and imperfect

Okay so I was expecting this to be super short on me based on the reviews. I’m 5’7, 140 lbs and petite on top. The dress fits well and goes all the way to the floor - perfect to wear with flats! I did just realize why it’s so long… the front and the back are reversed on the dress!!!! The back seam is at the front ( with the tag) and the flat front piece is at the back!!! I hope the seller can fix this issue… It’s true the stitching is imperfect; some off loose threads too but overall I really like it! I think it will work just fine for an Arwen costume. I like the colors and the cut. It would have been 5 stars with nicer construction but overall I’m happy with it.

Billiger Schrott!

Das Kostüm kam schon kaputt bei mir an, auf den ersten Blick an drei Stellen gerissen. Es ist kein hübsches weiß, wie auf dem Artikelbild abgebildet, sondern ein schmuddeliges grau. Der Stoff des Unterkleides ist nicht schön und sehr durchsichtig. Man könnte meinen die Produktionskosten des Kleides belaufen sich auf wenige Cents und der Rest fällt für die Lizenzgebühren an. Ich kann es keinesfalls weiter empfehlen, da ist die Zeit um es wieder zu verpacken und zur Post zu bringen einfach zu schade!

aus der Entfernung ganz hübsch, aber von Nahem nicht so schön verarbeitet. Ziemlich schwer, liegt aber am Samt und weiß man vorher - von daher kein Negativkriterium. Fühlte mich aber etwas unwohl im Kleid, da ich mir etwas hochwertigeres versprochen hatte. Für den Preis aber annehmbar.

Es ist zwar ein Kostüm, aber die Verarbeitung war eine Katastrophe, ich schickte es wieder zurück... denn es war mir das Geld nicht wert!
