Keeps the hull of my boat dry as a bone
Needed to replace the hull drain plug on my boat and decided to try this. It is easier to insert and remove than the brass plug and kept even more water out of the hull. The outer diameter not compressed measures 1.180" I only bring this up because it was something I needed to know and couldn't get an answer for till I bought one

1 1/4" boat plug
I needed a inch and a quarter plug for my rowboat so I bought this. Its well made but unfortunately when I went to use it I couldnt get it to expand enough to plug the drain hole in my boat which is exactly 1 1/4 inches. In a pinch I ran into a hardware store and bought a cheap bathtub 1 1/4 drain plug which worked perfectly.

Exactly how does this drain plug measure 1.25"?
I would like to know exactly what measuring system the producer of this drain plug goes by because I tried this 1.25" drain plug on a 1.25" slip pipe and it turns out that the plug must be tightened with a pair of pliers in order to get the drain plug to tighten up enough to fit a 1.25" drain pipe plumbing tee.A 1.25" plumbing slip pipe measures 1.25" I.D. (Inner Diameter) and this drain plug being that it is supposedly for a 1.25" hole should comply with standard plumbing pipe size but it does not.Do not waste your money on this drain plug because you will be just as disappointed as I am.The materials used to produce this drain plug are good because the materials will not easily corrode but other than that do not waste your time or money ordering this drain plug because you will be extremely disappointed.

Works in a pond
This is my second one and I bought it for a spare although the first one is still doing the job. The pond is concrete and has an 1 1/4 inch hole in the bottom. The drain plug is easy to use and keeps the water in.
