Very small amount

Good, hydrating product with great smell, but the amount is very small for the price un my opinion. Not cost effective for someone with long, or thick/porous hair

Strong chemicals

OMG this product so bad for hair I don't even try it because first time I open it smells like chemical,I have shampoo and conditioner with the same brand I like it but this one is garbage ????

good hydration to hair and scalp

Too Complicated For Me

First of all, my container of the Pre-Wash did not come shrink wrapped nor did it have a seal on it when you open the lid. Not sure if that's how they are packaged now but seeing other people's products with some sort of sealant made me question mine a bit. The other thing I did not like was the fact that the instructions are in the tiniest font on the jar. I get it, maybe there's a lot of info the company wants to convey but I have questions such as how often should I use this product or how do I use it. I was finally able to make out that you are supposed to wet your hair and then add the product from roots to tip and leave in for up to 30 minutes. Maybe it's because the most I ever do with my hair is shampoo and condition it, but trying to wet my hair and then add the product, knowing I am not going to sit in the shower for 30 minutes waiting for it to do it's thing, was super difficult. My hair was dripping everywhere, as I busied myself with other things waiting for the 30 minutes to expire. Afterwards, I was able to jump in the shower and shampooed and conditioned my hair like normal. As others have mentioned, the smell is not great. It's not terrible either but it's not something that I really enjoyed smelling for half an hour. Did my hair feel a little smoother afterwards? Sure. Did my scalp feel hydrated? I guess. Would I do this again? Maybe, when I have a little bit more time to pamper myself and can figure this whole "get my head wet but don't let it drip on everything" mess out.

Good product that is slightly overpriced

I think this is a good moisturizing, pre-poo treatment for the scalp. It has a mild smell of Jamaica black castor oil, which I do not mind. I was surprised to see it was only 4 oz for the cost of $14. I understand I was given this item for review but that price is too much, IMO. I am a long time Shea Moisture customer and I am used to getting a lot more price for the same price. This product while good is not the best I've had of the same kind. I would purchase it if it were on sale.

Messy To Use, Moisturizing

I have tried other Shea Moisture products before and have a positive view of the brand in general. This scalp moisture mask was good but didn't work as well as I had hoped it would. First, you have to apply it to wet hair and let it sit for thirty minutes. That's a long time to sit with wet hair! It does work fairly well to moisturize the scalp, though I expected a little more of a pronounced effect due to the time requirement. Overall, I liked this product but didn't find it phenomenal.

Very moisturizing

This is an interesting product that you put it on before your shampoo and let it sit. Since I'm not going to take a shower for a very long amount of time to wait for it, it makes sense to wet my hair and put it in before I get in and let it sit before I finish out in the shower. I did use it for a good amount of time and it felt very moisturizing. I needed to add a little bit of water for lather and then I used a comb to comb it through evenly which I always do when my hair is wet with conditioning products. My hair seems to really like it, but I do have extra frizz it seems while using it. I feel like it's helpful. It's very rare for me to rave about a product and continuously buy it because my body is finicky so this isn't a rave, but I also don't dislike it. So, I'm happy with it. My hair is more moisturized and my scalp is less angry.
