Shrinks ALOT!

The quality of this jacket is good. The reason I removed two stars is because it shrinks ALOT when washed even with cold water and cool dryer. I ordered a size 5/6 and it shrunk to the equivalent of a size 3/4 (little boys size). So if you order this jacket, order up a size!

Beautifully soft lightweight zip hoodie

So many of my sons hoodies are a thicker fleece that is a little more bulky than he usually wants to deal with. I found that this lightweight, super soft hoodie was both stylish enough that he naturally reached for it, and lightweight and comfortable enough that it didn't get in his way when he was playing, and he wanted to keep it on for longer than he'll usually wear his fleece ones. We also have the camouflage one, and like it very much. This one sets itself apart by having an adorable striped lining on the inside of the hood, which is visible when wearing. It's a really cute little fashionable accent. I really love that this is such a perfect lightweight fabric. It does seem to run a little bit small. My son usually wears a size small which would be a 6 to 7 , and the size 7 fits him absolutely perfectly but with no room to grow into. I would expect a size 7 to be at little bit on the larger side of a small. As long as you know that going in, you'll be happy with this. The cut is perfectly done for a young boy, and the feel of the fabric is just, well, splendid! I wear a lot of things from this brand and their women's line, and just love the softness of the fabric. While my son can be a rough-and-tumble guy sometimes, he appreciates a soft fabric as well, and commented frequently comments on certain clothes feeling softer or rougher on his skin. So I appreciate that this one is of such soft, nice quality. My son wore it for about six hours yesterday, which is unusual for this T-shirts in cold weather kind of guy.

Excellent Fit, Material & Comfort!

My 6-year-old little boy has been wearing the Splendid Camo Hoodie in Black French Terry and loves it! This is the perfect early-FAll or Springtime hooie that provides a little bit of extra warmth on cool days. The material here is the star and I'm wishing I had an adult-sized hoodie made out of the same stuff for me! Fitment is about standard for a zippered hoodie - basically meaning it hangs loose and comfortable but not overly bulky. The front pockets are really small, so I don't think they're very practical. That said, my wife and I agree that while Splendid clothes sold through Amazon are really nice, they're also really expensive. Our family will get two kids through this hoodie which would obviously help soften the blow. I'm just not so sure this hoodie is quite worth the asking price. If money is no issue by all means order, you'll likely not be disappointed. Recommended!

Great for fall

I used this for my son during fall before the weather was cold enough for a winter jacket. It fits better in the car seat and is easier to keep him from overheating. The zipper doesn't get stuck on the material and he doesn't fidget in it at all, so I guess he likes it. They make pants that match this and the whole outfit is adorable! The hood is a tiny bit small for his big head so we use a hat instead. No rain protection, but nice even when there is a cooler breeze. We have gotten a lot of use out of this one before he outgrew it. I washed it so many times and it just gets softer. The wrists are gathered so his hands don't get swallowed by the sleeves. Wish the hood was bigger, but otherwise it is fine and I am very happy with it.

Runs just a little bit small

I love Splendid kid's clothes. They feel worn in and soft but they last a long time and all the stuff I have by them has been passed down between my kids and still looks and feels new and soft. This sweater is also soft and comfortable right out of the bag, but like some other Splendid sweatshirts we have, it runs small, which is OK for us because my 5 year old is wearing an XS-S and it fits like most of his other S sweatshirts. I do think it tightens up a little bit in the wash dry cycle the first time too, so it is more fitted than you might expect, but I think that looks nicer than a baggy sweatshirt. So if you're looking for a sweatshirt that will be a loose fit for your kid, definitely size up.

Nice, Lightweight Jacket

I have to admit that I thought this jacket would be a bit thicker and more appropriate for cold weather. However, considering the price I don't think that I could have expected much more, especially after taking a much closer look at the product description. Construction is first rate. Stitching is very solid as is the zipper hardware, pockets and collar lining. The stitch pattern is very strong and rugged and should survive a good deal of use. As I mentioned, this is not a really cold weather jacket, but it is definitely appropriate for cooler days when a simple shirt would not be appropriate. The color and style are exactly as shown in the pictures and the fit is totally what I expected. It's a very nice product at a decent price.

Soft, well made, and cute.

Splendid's camo hoodie is made from thin and soft sweatshirt-type fabric. The camouflage print is cute and fun. The waistband and cuffs are finished with thick elastic bands. The zipper on the front is rugged and smooth. Overall, it is well made. In a 18-24 month size the hoodie fits my 17 month old son well. It fits over a long sleeve shirt nicely, but I found the hood to be quite large compared to most. I washed the hoodie with cold water in my front load washer and dried it on low heat. It came out perfectly. All in all... a cute hoodie.
