these are nice casters and you'll be pleased if they're what you ...
First off, these are nice casters and you'll be pleased if they're what you need. However, in retrospect, I have some thoughts on that. If you're buying these for a tool stand, like a bench grinder or a router table like I was, then you may want one pair of casters to swivel and to lock, but the second pair to be fixed. So even if the other pair you ordered, locks, this pair still allows it's end of the stand to move around which I find to be a nuisance. Notice the ones that came on your table-saw. One pair swivels and locks, the other pair is fixed and doesn't swivel. But maybe that's my bad, for taking Amazon's recommendation on "customers who bought this also bought this." Another, maybe bigger consideration, be aware that the stud on these is not only metric, but the diameter is larger than the pre-drilled holes in most tool stands. Again, unfortunately, Amazon, listed them under the "customers who bought this, also bought this", and unfortunately, I didn't double-check the size (which wasn't listed, anyway), and as you might guess they didn't fit the tool stand that I ordered. Maybe that was my bad, too, assuming that whoever had paired the two purchases had done their homework. One other thing, you'll need a thinner-than-usual wrench to hold the nut at the bottom of the stud tight as you're tightening the nut on top against your tool stand leg. Or, when you finally find the right sized metric nuts, buy an extra as I did, and tighten it down to the existing nut as a spacer. Sorry if that's not clear. Anyway, they're very nice if you can make them work

Nice size caster with great features.
I bought four of these casters to mobilize a drill press accessory cabinet. A light load for these casters. The cabinet has chrome tube steel legs which I fabricated aluminum dowels to fit inside the legs, D & T'ed for the threaded M12-1.75 x 28mm stud on the caster. 1) I believe the 5" wheel size is the minimum diameter for any castor in a garage. It rolls over concrete joints or a crack, hose, cord, etc. Especially if the load is high then wheel size is important for minimizing rolling resistance. So size is important! Needle bearings in the wheel also make for easy rolling. 2) The brake is double action which stops wheel and swivel rotation with one easy movement of the brake lever. I have also replaced existing casters on my equipment to this braking system which is another standard feature to get in a caster. 3) Price is good for all these features. 4) There is a review by 'Another Consumer' which commented on metal thickness. I also do not like Chinese products (I've been there six times) yet this comment is not fair. I measured the metal thickness and it's 0.110". The thickness of the caster metal on my 22 year old, 4 foot Kennedy roll-away toolbox (which is very heavily loaded) is 0.120" which was made in USA. 0.010 of an inch is not a significant difference. The axle bolt diameter is 0.308" and Kennedy is 0.312". Again not a significant difference. The average person or DIY'er tends to over-build things and their perception is skewed when evaluating things. One has to be an engineer to fully understand load points and sizing of parts.

Great wheels but.......
These wheels look pretty stout, I love the way the shroud covers the bearings. It will be really hard for something to get into the roller bearings. The one thing that kept me from rating this a 5 was there were no specs for the size of the threaded shaft. I assumed it was a 3/8 shaft and had welded ends on my table legs as such only to get the wheels and find they have what appears to be 7/16 threads or could be metric. I am pretty irate since I have to cut off the end of my table legs to accommodate the larger size (another 2 hours of work plus material). I will go to a hardware store to find out what nuts fit the stem. pros: well built, great bearing protection cons: adv does not specify the stem thread size shaft size too short at only 30mm thread size 12x1.75 making nuts hard to find does not include the nuts 1/15/2013: I went to the hardware store to find that the thread size was not american but metric, 12x1.75 to be exact. It took a while to find the right size nut but could not find any jam nuts. For the price of these wheels this company should include the jam nuts since they would have more resources than the average purchaser. recommendation: yes, very well made but be aware; nuts may be hard to find

Great caster FOR THE MONEY
First you cannot at all compare these to casters costing 2x, 3x, 4x as much. A 5" caster such as this cost around $10 a piece is a LIGHT duty caster. No ifs ands or buts. That being said, these work well for the money and hold a few hundred pounds no problem. They are rated at 300# a piece but due to the way the stem mounts into the table, I would be worried about side loads when rolling and going over small includes - the 300# is straight down and not side loaded. Caster is 6.5" high roughly from bottom of wheel to top of nut on "bottom" of the stem - where the caster would contact the item being held up. It loses one star due to the fact that the thread is metric. Seriously? Hardware like this is standardized to SAE and the way this caster is made (threaded stem) you either need a nut or a tapped hole - both things that are "difficult" to change once done. If these ever break on me hopefully they will still be available as replacements. Overall, great for rolling things around the garage but don't use them for heavy items - get the flat plate ones instead which are better at handling side loads.

Sturdy, well built casters
Just what I was looking for to complete my table at a much better than retail price without having to drive all over the city to search for these.
