Doing the job

Had them on the couch for one month and so far so good. They were easy to put on and are staying put. Soft and the color is as pictured.

T CUSHION BACK COVERS

They are soft. But they do not stay on the cushions very well. We ended up buy "sheet corner straps" and the covers still slip off.

Get Covers

Having 2 dogs these covers are great for the couch. I bought several so I can replace them when I wash the other. So far even with the dogs scratching, they have stayed together.

Gave my couch a new life! My couch had a lot of leather flakes coming off. Thought about changing couch but cam across this. Bought a LOT from this company, and bought 2 sets of each (for when one set is in the wash). LOVE THEM ALL (seat, back, arm covers)

Lifesaver for flaking RV sleeper sofa

Our 'bonded leather' RV tri-fold sleeper sofa started flaking/peeling after 3 years and maybe 25 uses of our camper. It created a huge mess, along with a huge amount of frustration and anger on our part. The sad part is the frame and build of the sofa was just fine. It's that junky bonded leather that falls apart anywhere it touches your skin. Since we still use the sleeper portion and the width is limited, we were pretty much stuck with either figuring out a way to cover the sofa or replacing it with another $1500 one (which Lippert has now switched to vinyl, go figure). Re-upholstering wasn't a viable option, so my first attempt was to purchase a 1 piece slip cover to place over the entire sofa. While this worked, it required me to take it off each time we used the sleeper sofa which is multiple times a year when my son goes camping with me. This resulted in a huge flake mess all over our RV and each day we spent 10-15 mins vacuuming up the pieces. Just to do it all again the next night. So, i needed a better solution. I found these Subrtex individual pieces on Amazon and decided to give them a try. I ended up with left/right T-cushion back covers, a bench cover and 2 arm covers. The pictures show the before and after. But, note these were taken early on and I was able to adjust the arm covers so they tapered perfectly with the contours on the arms and completely cover the bonded leather all the way to the back. Still, this should give you an idea of how the final product looks. With these in place the sofa sleeper still works perfectly. No interference, nothing to remove. Just lift off the 2 back cushions as usual and fold out the sofa. And the best part is that all of the flaking material is completely covered up even when the bed is folded out, so no more flakes! As far as my overall thoughts: the material seems to be well made, doesn't have any strong smell (though we washed/air dried all of the pieces first). It has a good amount of stretch so it's easy to get good coverage. The arm covers came with a few upholstery anchors which helped hold them in place. I'm planning to order more off Amazon and use those to ensure the bench area doesn't move around as well (though it hasn't so far). All in all, this has so far been a very good and economic solution to a very messy problem. I recommend them. If you have a cat (ours doesn't travel with us) then you might want to consider something else, because this material wouldn't hold up to clawing. But, it works fine with our dog, though we use a beach towel to protect the bench material from stains and smells.
