Good bulbs working as expected
These bulbs work similarly to other MR16 bulbs we have purchased in the past. As an earlier reviewer mentioned, some come with covers at the front protecting the bulb itself and some don't. These do not have the glass or plastic cover. For our application, either configuration will work. We usually expect this type of bulb to last about 9 months using them a little less than 12 hours a day average.

I've never seen light bulbs last this short of time
We have three bulbs in our vent hood. I bought a six pack of these in August and in February they have all been used. These have to be the worst light bulbs ever made...

Waste of money
I like it for the brightness of the bulb but found it very strange that the glass is missing from the top of the bulb. My other halogens from other manufactures have glass on the top and therefore are totally enclosed. And the thing to remember with halogens is that you can not touch the actual piece that supplies the light by getting oil from finger prints on it. So I am perplexed and left wondering if this bulb is meant to be this way or is it flawed. However this is bulb does not last. I have had it for 3 months and now it is not working.

Not much brighter than 50W bulbs
Our kitchen pot lights use the medium base MR16 bulbs (50W) - unfortunately. They tend to be hard to find, expensive, and not as bright as we'd like. Most are rated about 500 lumens, so when I saw these 75W bulbs were rated as being almost twice as bright as the 50W, I thought they'd be the answer. Instead, they are only marginally brighter than the 50W bulbs that cost less than half as much. Another thing to know about them - although I don't know if it is important - they do not have a protective lens like other bulbs we've bought. That doesn't seem to affect how they fit into our pot light assembly, so it doesn't matter in our case. We've used them for a month so far without a problem, but I wouldn't spend the extra money on them again.
