No More Shock's
I bought these screws I have a lot of carpet in my home and was constantly getting shock's when I'd turn the light switch on touching the metal face plate screws. Well, no more shock's been using them for a couple of weeks now. I bought one pack to try out the next day I ordered one more pack, sometimes when I went to flip the light switch on you would see this blue spark or a cracking noise saying I got you. don't throw away the metal ones because if I move, the nylon ones are coming with me and leave the metal ones. Best way to replace is use your fingers to get them started then the screwdriver so you don't cross thread.

Useful insulating screw for electrical switch or outlet plates
I couldn't find these at my local hardware store. These are the size of the standard switch and outlet plate mounting screws used everywhere in the US, but they are non-conductive. They're pricey for what they are but getting them here in one day instead of driving around town makes up for that. I wanted to isolate a dimmer switch in a box that has no ground (old knob and tube wiring). Using these nylon screws with a plastic switch plate avoids any possibility of a shock hazard. I see others use them to avoid static shocks you can get in dry areas, another good application. I knocked one star off because I received only 19 in a package marked 25. When I told Amazon they immediately refunded my full purchase price, which is excellent customer service. But just be aware the seller did not package mine correctly so count 'em when you get 'em. At $9.48 getting only 19 meant each one would have cost 50 cents instead of 38 cents.

Helpful to eliminate static shocks
Newer homes have grounded switches. Sometimes you build up a static charge walking on carpet or vinyl flooring. These screws can prevent the shock when your fingers touch the metal plate screws.

I use to always get static shocks from my light switch plate screws. These plastic screws solved the problem once and for all. They also blend in very well with cream or white switch plates.

No More Static Eletric Shock
In the dry cold winter months, my light switch wall plate screws would always give me static electric shocks (and yes, my switches are all properly grounded). I switched to these nylon screws and it totally fixed the problem. I am so happy this product is on the market.
