Purchased 2. One for my easy going quarterhorse mare and the other for my OTTB gelding. Hers is great because she’s as calm and sweet as they come. His, however is about ready for the trash. In 2 months he has broken one of the rods and has tore the bag up easily. I’d buy again for her, but I would buy a different brand for him.

Great Hay Tote Bag

I needed a bag that I could use to tote hay from my shed all the way to my barn (it's a short hike between the two). I didn't need the feeder aspect of this bag, but it's turned out to be a nice feature. The bag holds a good solid flake or two or three and is very sturdy. When I'm in my barn trying to divvy up the feed to my goats, they're able to nibble out the feeder side of the bag so I'm not being attacked from all angles by hungry goats. This bag is definitely a life saver!

Just what I needed for my tiny goats.

I have 3 dwarf goats who have plenty of land to graze on, but need long grass to start their day. Everyone who has goats knows they are messy with grass hay and waste a lot of it when using a regular hay bag feeder. This bag works perfectly for my needs and they seem to like eating from it. Since the top has a Velcro closer and a flap that seals it, my goats can't eat from the top anymore. I have a lot less waste now.

The construction is very sturdy, and well built. The bag is also very easy to load, and has been saving me a ton of hay!

Finally a hay bag that conserves hay: My horses love pulling hay onto the ground and soiling it. This is the first hay bag I've used where they are actually eating it all with wasting very little. The double Velcro closure is fantastic and the size is perfect for supplementing hay during the grassy months. I will stick with this hay bag.

Poorly made, not durable enough for horses

My boy does not “attack” his feed or hay, but this bag fell apart quickly. Its failure is due to design and not due to my horse; it was not built to horse standards. My bag lasted not even five days before it was damaged. My horse gets two flakes in the morning and two again at noon, then turned out for 12-14 hours overnight so it’s not like this bag was eaten out of constantly for weeks or months. The bag has single stitched cross bars with very thin thread; this kind of workmanship definitely cannot stand up to a horse. The hanging strap is made from thin material as well; again, single stitched. The hardware is very thin. The bag itself is made of thin fabric with a plastic coating on the inside which started flaking off within two days. See photos for examples. This is incredibly disappointing as their other products seem well made. I like the design of the bag and would buy it again if it was made from much more sturdy materials - materials actually designed to be used by horses. Can not recommend and will be seeking my money back.

We use it as a way to slow down how fast our pony eats, in a wall mounted manger, it is a little flimsy for that purpose, but if it was used as designed, it would probably work well

Good for smaller goats

This is a good way to feed my Nigerian dwarf goats, I just wonder how long the Velcro will last with hay getting stuck to it. My goats still waste but its a lot less than the waste I had from an open feeder.

Does not stand up!!

I disliked the cheap plastic tubing in the top for stability. They bent the first week. The second week my horse had completely ripped one side seam clear open. Very disappointed! Will not buy again!!
