Very absorbent towel

Great towel; very absorbent and easy to pack

Lightweight and Absorbent Travel Towel. Soft. More Like Cloth. Soak in Cold Water Before First Use

This review is for the TERRY TOWN Turkish Cotton Travel Towel (Color: Gray/White). I received a free taxable sample of this towel to review in my search for a lightweight travel towel and possible everyday bath towel. The main body of the towel not including the tassels measures 71" in length and 38" in width. There are 28x tied tassels on each of the long ends that measure approximately 3" in length. The material used is a lightweight Turkish cotton and the total weight of the towel is 315 grams. Overall workmanship is good, and the hems have held up over a month's constant use with no visible fraying. Before first use I tightened each of the tassels and then soaked the towel in cold water for six hours (some recommend soaking overnight) to pre-loosen up the longer cotton fibers. After the soak I threw it into the wash and then line dried the towel to avoid any sort of extreme heat that would tighten up the cotton fibers. Line drying is not required as the towel should be able to accommodate drying on low as per the care instructions. Overall, the travel towel has delivered as advertised across multiple trips and fairly frequent use. The towel is easy to pack as it's lightweight and easily rolls up into a compact roll (8" wide x 4" diameter or less). The weave of the Turkish cotton is more like a cloth texture versus your typical fluffy terrycloth towel. If anything, the cloth is quite soft and has gotten a little fuzzy and softer with use, almost like a baby burp cloth. I was surprised at how absorbent the towel has been, especially given that it's thinner like a cloth. For use as a bath towel, I've found that folding the towel in half over my hands helps to manage the extended length. I especially like that this travel towel dries quickly, which helps keep it fresh over the extended period of time while I'm traveling. Note: one thing to keep in mind for this color/pattern and lack of thickness is that it becomes slightly see-through when wet. All in all, the TERRY TOWN Turkish travel towel is lightweight, absorbent, and dried quickly with a nice neutral pattern. I would recommend this as a good option for a travel towel and as an option to consider if you're looking for an everyday bath towel that dries quickly.

An attractive wrap or light blanket, not for drying off

This is a very attractive thin, flat blanket that makes an excellent beach or pool wrap, or a light blanket to use on dry ground or on top for a little warmth. It's not absorbent enough to to dry off after a swim or shower. The cotton quality is excellent and despite the thinness, it has a soft and luxurious feel. It's a nice size--big for a wrap, small for a blanket, that makes it a handy tweener blanket.

Love this style of towel

Not quite the same as Turkish towels but very similar. Great size, absorbs wonderful and quick to dry. These are definitely my travel towels I can use as a light blanket. Ground cover, wraps around my pudgy belly just fine.

Great lightweight towel

I am new to this whole thing, but I really like this towel. I like that it is versatile and doesn't just look like a beach towel, but could be used for a variety of things. Its also super large!

Absolutely gorgeous

This is my 1st Turkish towel. Very soft and beautiful. It's almost like a light weight blanket that you could use outside on the deck or even on a beach in summer or spring. Seems like it would be great for travel as it doubles as a cover up if going to the pool or beach & a blanket & a towel. It's great for a shower as it just drapes over you and no need to worry about where to put it. Super absorbent. I need more of these what an amazing & beautiful towel.

Beach perfect!

Frankly, beach towels are terrible for the beach: they get full of sand and messy. Turkish towels are flat-woven with no terry loops to catch sand, so a quick shake and you're good to go. I like using them for camping, because they're nice as light blankets.

Like stepping out of a Turkish bath!

Absolutely transported me to Instanbul and being towel dried by an attendant in a Turkish bath spa. The crisp cool quality and light smooth texture dries you comfortably without feeling rough on your skin. It is very light and packable making it great for the beach or visit to a pool. It can be laid on the grass for laying out in the sun. Very versatile and exceptional quality. I will be getting one for everyone in the family since they all enjoy it and this one is mine!! 5 Star for sure!
