Not a great product
This thermometer is decent, but it's certainly not outstanding. First off, the clip that holds it to the side of the pot is extremely flimsy, and doesn't really hold it on very well if you are stirring your wort. Second, its accuracy is questionable - when I was dialing in my mash temp, i had to use an instant-read digital meat thermometer instead of this because I couldn't really tell. It's fine if you want ballpark temps, for example are you getting close to strike temperature, or how close to boiling are you, but it's not sufficient on its own.

Terrible! Accuracy okay in the range of typical mashing for homebrewing, but otherwise NOT, and hard to read.
I tested this by comparing its reading in water at various temperatures, from room temperature to boiling, with a digital thermometer as a comparison. In the range of typical beer grain mashing, 140-160 degrees, it seems to be accurate to within a degree or two. However, the scale is small enough that it's a little hard to read. Don't expect pinpoint accuracy from this instrument. I bought it to be able to measure temperatures deeper in my mash tun than my grocery store digital thermometer can reach, so it's useful for that purpose. DO NOT expect to be able to use it for meaningful or accurate readings below or above the mash range I mentioned, as it proved to be terribly off, more so the farther it got from 150 degrees.

Works great
I use this for brewing beer. Works great. Don't forget to calibrate it when you receive it. Put it in ice water and adjust to 32 degrees and then put it in boiling water and adjust if needed to 212 degrees. Otherwise you might as well use your finger to figure out the temperature if its not calibrated.

Good Product
Product is well-made and does what it is supposed to. The only recommendation I would have it to double-check the device you want to clip this to. This product is better for something with a FLAT edge. My pot has a slight curve to it, so it doesn't clip on perfectly, but still works overall.

Not for canning or cheesemaking.
Bought this for cheese making and canning and used once and it broke. The temperature kept saying 120 degrees no matter how much I cooled the cheese. After 2 hours of cooling the cheese, I realized, the stupid thing was working. I should have looked at where it came from and realized it was for homebrewing and winemaking. I know nothing about those things or the temperature range that it uses so maybe would be good for that but not for cheese or yogurt or canning.

Inaccurate and not able to calibrate properly
This thing stinks, its 8 degrees off which is not good when trying to take a Mash Temp that you want to be as accurate as possible. I tried adjusting the nut to calibrate it in a glass of Ice water and and seems to be okay and when I use it again its off. Stay away from this piece of crap! Get one at your local HBS so you can return it if you have issues.

Great as long as you don't submerge it in water
Great as long as you don't submerge it in water. NOT water tight. Does it defeat the purpose of sanitizing I don't know. Recommend you spray this sucker with sanatizer and not submerge it.

Works great
My first time making my own beer and this thermometer was very steady and easy to use. I clipped to the side of the pot nicely as we cooked our first batch of brew.
