Peace of Mind

I love not worrying about my chicken's safety at night; I am not always home so this door has been great! I added some reflective tape to each side of the door so that I can see for sure that it is closed when I check on my girls. We had some trouble with the magnets on the door not being in the right place, or maybe not strong enough. The door would open but the magnets would not trigger the door to stop opening/closing so the gears would grind for about 20 seconds and then close and open again. It eventually would decide to be where it was supposed to be. We have adjusted the door magnets so it works properly; hopefully the batteries will last longer than two months. Water dripped on the door so it was disabled for a day but then began working again.

Love this.

I had bought a different automatic door prior to this one that had good reviews, but was also a newer Amazon product. I absolutely could not figure that one out, nothing worked, it seemed like a fake. I found this with a good price and was skeptical again to not have a bad experience, but I love this door! It’s a little bigger than other products and for me that was perfect since I already had a cut hole in my coop where the door would fit. This is SUPER easy to program. I love the different options of using time and daylight to open and close the door. I have mine set to time-time because there are too many trees blocking where sunlight would reach the sensors. It opens and closes promptly and slowly so that chickens don’t get caught. I’ve been using it for just shy of a month now and I checked the battery amount and still said 100%. I was concerned that the snow/sleet we’ve had would cause the batteries to die quicker, but so far so good. And they’re cheap batteries from Harbor Freight, so they tend not to last as long. The only concerning notes I have would be to make sure the screws for the door aren’t too tight so that the door can open and close smoothly. It does go slow, so not much force and probably won’t try to open if one corner is too tight. The other is that there is a setting for force detected if a chicken were caught in the way. I wasn’t quite able to get this properly working. I changed the amount and put my hand in the way as a test and the door still tried to close. Not sure how long it needs to feel something blocking before it opens again.

Not great for winter

This worked great until the cold weather came. It has struggled to open after it snows. We’re forced to go out and manually let the chickens out of the coop through another door because this one freezes up and won’t open. I am going to try to put a little roof over it and see if that helps.

Very good product

It was easy to install. Easy to program and it does what is supposed to do. My chicks are safe at night.

Solid construction with metal gears. Would be better if it would close some time after sundown.

Solid construction with metal gears. Would be better if it would close after a settable delay after sundown. Easy to install. Overall I am very satisfied.

Stop sensor needs adjusted

Warrantied one out due to issue. Warranty process was painless. They shipped a new one. Same issue. The stop sensor sits back too far and there is plastic between the sensor and the door contact. I had to cut out the plastic and move the sensor to the closer to the door contact so the unit will stop.

It worked fine for a week or so and then he started making very loud noises when he calls, and when it opens

Worked for a few months

Worked perfectly for a few months then started acting up. I have to go out every night to check because I never know when it’s going to close properly.

Malisimo

Llevo seis meses con la puertacy todo perfecto. Al xsbo de este tiempo la puerta ni abre ni cierra el sistema no funciona. Esijo reparación o sustitución del mismo y no obtengo respuesta Llevo 7 días mandando mensajes y e mandado fotos video pero es igual No hay respuesta para reparalo o Acer sustitución Eso no es normal nos como Armazón puede consentirlo y no obligar hacer devolución o sustitución puesto que esta en farantia y no es barato por cierto
