Quite big and bright, single spectrum mode, not a lot of features

When I got it it was $280 which is pricy for a single tent light. However, it seems to have dropped considerably in price to around $200 which I think is decent for a HPS alternative. There aren't particularly many features compared to other LED grow lights of this price range though. The VEVOR LED grow light for a 5x5 ft tent is a big bulky thing. It is not like your conventional grow lights that are small and easy to hang. This panel weighs a tad over 18 lbs, being solidly made of aluminum sheeting. It has a lot of LEDS and all of them work, with no dead or dim LEDS. The LEDS are a mix of different spectrums, for a "full spectrum" when put together. If you thought the details in the ad meant you can adjust the overall color spectrum between warm and cool, there is no such option and it's just a full daylight color. Some of my LED grow lights do have the option of switching between vegetative and flowering spectrums but this does not. There is only the option of changing the intensity of the light with the knob. The LED grow light can adjust between 4 different levels of light intensity, excluding off. The dial clicks into 4 different brightness settings, with different wattage draws for each. The lowest setting stabilizes at and draws 113 watts, the second 211 watts, the third 312 watts, and the fourth at 405 watts. As you may expect from a LED panel this big, it delivers a lot of light and can basically turn a room at night into day, to the extent that turning on and off the ceiling lights make no visible difference. If you have a good number of plants indoors, you can hang this about 8 feet high and over a 15 x 15ft area for plants that don't need too intensive of a light, such as plants you're overwintering. If you want active healthy growth, mostly the plants directly under the grow light will have the most exposure. This will definitely light up a 5x5 ft grow tent with reflective walls and keep your plants happy. It is pricy for a grow light though so take that into consideration when weighing the costs and benefits. There aren't many bells and whistles to this, such as timer functions, spectrum adjustments, or remote controls so it is essentially a basic light unit.

Very Impressive Grow Light

I'm new to the indoor plant-growing community, but I wanted to start with a good grow light that I wouldn't have to replace in a year or two. A friend told me that heat could be a problem, and I would have to use fans in the summer to provide good circulation. Since this light does not produce much heat, I may not have to worry about the fans. The Samsung name on the diodes must mean they have high quality and dependability. The different light color choices will be helpful. Although the write-up says easy to install, I'll ask a good friend to help me.

Reliable, well built and efficient

First the challenge. This is a really bulky and heavy unit, so you need to make sure you have a way to properly and securely hang this, this is perhaps the only issue we had to deal with with our 2 months of owning these growth light. I feel the most impressive thing about this light is it's reliability. Though we have not kept it on all the time but there are times we've ran it weeks at a time and there was 0 issue. It just kept on shining and made our expedited the growth rate of our veggie before we planted them outside. The timer function works well when we needed it without fail. There was no significant excess heat and it worked well under humidity. We kept this in our laundry room the whole time and it just worked with out any problem regardless how many loads of laundry we do. All in all just a really reliable product, not a ton of features like some of the other ones out there but the features they do have works well and is reliable.

A bit tricky to add to an Aerogarden Farm :'-D

Consumes 100 - 150 Watts depending on selected brightness. The quietest and least power hungry 3rd party light I have, since it's passively cooled. Has brightness control AND Daisy chained brightness control. Uses high quality LEDs. Spectrum is great for taking pictures of your plants as it seems quite close to natural light. It's also wider than the standard Aerogarden Farm lights, allowing for a better coverage for plants that spread out a bit. Downsides are that it lacks the shorter frequency UV lights, offers no control over spectrum, and it's hot to the touch. The light doesn't spill out 'every direction but up', but it's also not very narrow like my KingLED light. If I were using running a very visible Aerogarden and always intended on taking lots of pictures, this would likely be my first choice. The hanging rings in this were much different than the other 3rd party lights I added to my Aerogardens as it came with preformed hangars so I had to get creative to hook it up to the AG cables. I used 2 large binder clips which I was able to easily slide the cables through after removing the metal pieces and block the return by returning the metal pieces. Then all I had to do was hook the manufacturer hangers over the binder clips. NOTE: Doing the light hanging like this on an Aergarden Farm, reduces the max light height by at least 6", so if you have a plant that you expect to get right up to that maximum height, you'll need to rig something else up to get the light higher.
