Exactly what I needed

I needed an easy way to connect my ro filter to my drain. Already have a dishwasher connected, but this allows for hooking them both to the one connection on the drain tailpiece.

For AO Smith Water / Requires more research and purchasing

To make this work with the AO Smith water system you’re going to have to do a bit more research on things and maybe even improvise like I did. I was looking for a solution to connect the AO Smith waste water tube to my garbage disposals dishwasher intake. As you know the AO Smith system doesn’t work with garbage disposal systems, so you have to buy an additional piece. This piece alone will not complete the job. Keep reading reviews and researching. You’ll need a way to connect The smaller waste water tube to this without having leakage.

Solved air gap leak and gurgling noise !

Picture is before the installation. RO waste (black tube) was going directly to the drain and got clogged, causing leak at the faucet.

Not every installation needs this part, but if yours does, there is no getting around it.

Buy this fitting before you start.

I used to be an appliance repair person and did kitchen / laundry repairs and installations. I have now installed 3 RO water filtration systems, this was the first time I have heard of this drain tee. It was golden. This model comes with a filler hose and 2 worm-type screw clamps. I didn't have to procure one other item. I have a bag of materials to return to a local big box home that I purchased before I saw this item. I imagine the entire bag is approximately 25 to 50% more than the cost of this fitting that is made for this use, as a drain inlet for the RO discharge. Once I had the tee it took about 15 to 30 minutes to install the tee and test the installation for leaks. As I didn't want to crack the plastic tee, I had not cranked down on the clamps and I did have a small leak that was fixed by tightening the screw clamp 1/2 turn. This tee, in my opinion, should be part of the RO package with the RO filtration system.

Much quieter than connecting to a drain saddle

I ordered one when installing a Watts filter at our vacation home - the installation guide mentioned it was necessary for single sink configuration. It also mentioned that it would quiet the gurling so I ordered a second one for the old filter at our primary home with a double sink configuration. The noise is gone!

Freaking life saver

I had been working for several days to install an RO system only to find out the drain line attachment wont fit on the pipes I have. After looking around, I'm so glad I found this. It just makes so much more sense then drilling a stinking hole in your drain.

Works well with additional connector.

I was hooking up the drain of an RO to a dish washer drain. The size of the dish wash drain is smaller than what this was so I had to get a reducer. I got it from Canadian tire and is called a dishwasher drain connector. 1/2 to 3/4 in. It was simple to hookup with this and works well.

Money Saver

Saved me from changing the pipelines. I used this part to connect an RO water system to a dishwasher waste line. I had to use an additional dishwasher branch connector to fit this to the drain line.
