Better than expected

Overall well worth the money. Unfortunately it did not fit my lathe, Jet JWL-1221VS. I was only able to use 2 of the 4 hold down bolts. I'll have to make an adapter plate. If the plate provided was 9-1/2 instead of 9" my lathe would be able to use 4 hold down bolts instead of just 2. Or if the slots went all the way to the edge of the plate it would work. I'm afraid to lose too much rigidity moving the slots closer the the edge though, hence the adapter plate. As other reviewers have said the fit between the mounting platform and the column has too much of a gap, about .075 (1.905mm), which causes some slop in the fit even after tightening both bolts. I made a couple of .035 aluminum shims with holes to put between the pieces which allows for better tightening. I did use the lathe before adding the adapter plate with only 2 hold down bolts and it was still solid. I had very minimal vibration. I'm going to love using my lathe with this new stand.

Good stand with design faults

The stand has some design faults. The horizontal bar has two issues. The first one is the bar that goes inside is too small for my Rikon midi lathe it goes in only about 1.5" which is too short. The second issue is the two bolts that are meant to lock the bar are on the wrong sides. For these issues, no matter how much you tighten these bolts, the bar bends in the middle. Because of this bending, the two vertical columns do not stay completely vertical. Solutions: make the bar that goes inside longer so that at least 2.5" inches longer and the two bolts should be placed on the top and the bottom or one bolts that goes all the way through both bars. To make it horizontal as much as possible, I slipped a thick washer (see the second photo). It worked.

I wish I had bought it sooner

Before this lathe stand, I couldn’t turn irregular shapes woods. No matter where I placed the lathe the machine was shaking so bad that I didn’t feel safe to proceed. But now is a different story. I can turn any wood no matter the shape of it. If you are on the fence like I was, please don’t hesitate to buy it. It makes turning a much better experience.

Impressive heavy duty, easy assembly

This stand is incredibly sturdy and fits my Wen lathe perfectly. Goes together very easily. I would give it five stars, but I think it could be improved by offering it with locking casters instead of the adjustable feet as an option. Also would like it better if I could lower it another couple of inches to offset the height of the casters I installed. Great value! Honest John

Works for grizzly 12x18

Works well, but came missing two nuts, had to get replacement nuts and bolts, couldn't find matching nuts

Works great with my Jet Lathe

Works great with my Jet Lathe. Only install issue was on me, the bolts that purchased did not threads long enough for a tight fit, I printed some spacers and all is right, tight, and ready to roll. I combined with with a mobile base so that I can easily move it around my shop.

Good bang for the buck...

WEN LA0009 9-Piece MT2 Wood Lathe Drive and Live Center Kit with Aluminum Case Very good assortment. Works well. I took off 1 star only because the machining finish on some of the parts was very rough. Although admittedly, that does not affect the performance of this set. Would recommend.

Strong and easy to move around!

Great Lathe stand. I have a 48" inch lathe but bolted a 2" x 12" five foot board across the top of the stand and then the Lathe. Works well.
