Underestimated Foundation

I think I undermine this foundation and only wear it when I'm not going anywhere. I'm not sure why because when I have used it the result has been very nice. It's not too thin nor too thick. They have a little plastic thing in the middle to apply the foundation which I don't care for too much. The color match has been good and I think this stays put pretty well. I get full coverage off of this and nothing too sheer.

My favorite enexpensive foundation

I've purchased this foundation for years. I have normal skin tone, not too greasy and not to dry and this makes my skin look wonderful. It's never caused any breakouts and stays on well. The color is true to images shown, just be sure you have selected the shade you want and not the defaulted first image. I've dont that a time or two.

A filter for your face in real life! A $5 dupe for the high end $40 EL Double Wear!

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love makeup and I have a huge collection of everything from dollar store to high end, but foundation isn’t something that I typically shop around for. I have tried various different foundations, but I always go back to my one tried and true holy grail foundation: Estée Lauder Double Wear. I’ve been using it for the last 10 years and my mother has used it faithfully for the last 15-20. Not only does it give a flawless finish, but it could last through a hurricane with its 24hr wear. At $42 a bottle, I’ve always found that it really is worth the price for all of the positives it packs. I have “combination” skin that typically leans on the more dry side. I do, however, get pretty oily on the sides of my nose and the middle of my forehead (the “t-zone”). I recently started watching a beauty blogger who uses the Wet n Wild Photofocus pretty frequently in her videos. I looked at the foundation in a store here that carries it but they only had about 6 shades and none of them were close to my shade. I stumbled across the foundation on Amazon for $5 and figured “what the heck?! It’s only $5!” First I went onto Wet n Wilds website and looked at all the different shades they carry so I would get a good idea of where I thought I might fall. In Estée Lauder I wear 2n1 Desert Beige so I decided to order the Photofocus in Nude Ivory which is also a neutral shade that’s pretty fair but not as fair as porcelain. When I got the foundation I was excited to try it but I was also VERY skeptical. Too many times I’ve been fooled by the hype around a drug store foundation that turned out to be awful for me and came nowhere close to comparing to my Double Wear. I first tried it on all over my face at night just to see how the color match looked and to see if it oxidized any after it dried down. It was literally a PERFECT match. I was concerned when I first opened the bottle because it seemed to look and feel very thin. The smell didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would after reading other reviews. I put it on using a stippling foundation brush and it was a more medium coverage until I applied a little more and it was a more medium-high coverage. It is very buildable which I like! The finish was beautiful and after it dried down it gave my skin a very airbrushed look without settling into any fine lines. I was surprisingly pleased but I knew the true test would be how it survived an entire work day. I work in a very busy restaurant. I’m constantly running around and going back and forth into a 100 degree kitchen. It isn’t uncommon for my steps to track anywhere from 6-12 miles per shift depending on how busy we are. I’m also pretty hot-natured anyway so the sweating is inevitable! Most foundations will slide right off your face by the end of the night! I wore it to work yesterday for the first time. I applied it around 2:00 and worked an entire busy hot shift. I took this photo at midnight before I left to go home and my foundation STILL LOOKED JUST AS FLAWLESS!! I do use a silicone based primer, baking powder, and matte setting spray to extend the life of my foundations. It passed my test and exceeded every expectation I had which is unbelievable for a $5 foundation! I’m honestly shook at the fact that a $5 Wet n Wild foundation is the first foundation that’s been able to come close to comparing to the much more expensive Estée Lauder high-end counterpart!!!! TL;DR: If you’re on the fence, buy it! This pic is after wearing it for an entire sweaty shift at the end of a 10 hour day. After faithfully wearing $42 Estée Lauder Double Wear makeup for the last 10 years, this is the first foundation out of any high-end or drugstore that is truly comparable and worthy of being called a “dupe”. I have extremely sensitive “combination” skin that is very dry with an oily t-zone. I’m 2n1 in Estée and the WnW neutral shade Nude Ivory is a PERFECT MATCH and it’s only $5!!!!!! This is definitely a new staple in my makeup collection!

Great coverage!

This has great coverage, doesn't feel too heavy for a foundation that covers this well. It doesn't dry out your skin, or cause breakouts, it's smooth and no odor. I have tried many foundations over the years, this one is so far my top favorite! Color matches my skin just right and a little goes a long way, this bottle will last a many months. The price on here is fantastic!

Good affordable foundation

I've used this foundation for a few years now. In my opinion, it provides a light-medium coverage. It's not only by it does leave my face feeling dewy. It holds most of the day but does tend to separate in my eye creases. Otherwise it's really nice and way less expensive than the other brands.

Good texture, some irritation imo

I really liked the texture of this foundation but with prolonged wear, especially when it's warm, gave me some acne. Otherwise a great product and for the price I would purchase again over most foundation I've tried in the past

DESASTRE!!!!!

No me gustó naaaada. Lo compré porque la youtuber Tati lo recomendó pero es como ponerte pintura acrílica en la cara, se empieza a 'crackelar' y resalta mucho los poros, granitos, cualquier tipo de textura. En fotos de lejos se ve bien pero en persona se ve muy mal. También es muy difícil de difuminar, utilice brochas, el beauty blender, los dedos, pero nunca logre que se viera bien. Como que se queda arriba de la piel en lugar de unirse a ella, intente mezclarlo con crema hidratante y funciono un poco mejor pero no recomendaría este producto para nada. Esta es una foto del producto en mi cara solamente 30 minutos después de haberlo aplicado.

Amazing

I specifically bout dewy because im finding matte as i get older , im 38 doesn't help my skin and makes my skin look pale and dull. This foundation is amazing . I use as a base exilir oil and together they really work well . I'm very happy with my purchase

DECENT FOUNDATION.

really like it, sets beautifully, finish is nice too,coverage is brilliant and the applicator is perfect for me i prefer this over a pump and the shade is a really good match for me. however the smell is the only reason that i am immensely put off by it just because it smells so strong like oil paint and i can still smell it on my face for 10-15 mins after putting it on. shade refrences for dessert beige: Mac nc42 Maybelline fit me matte n' poreless 312 golden/ 322 warm honey Estee lauder double wear honey bronze Nars sheer glow syracuse Makeup revolution fastbase stick foundation F10&12 mixed Primark p.s love, my perfect colour foundation toffee

Not what it's hyped up to be

This foundation is so highly talked about by beauty and makeup bloggers, and i do not understand why. The shade match was actually perfect, but the formula smells like chemicals. It did not blend into my skin nicely, i tried a damp beauty sponge, a flat foundation brush, a flat headed brush, my fingers and a combination of all of them. It sat in the fine lines of my face, and left an almost rippled texture across my skin. I am blonde and fair, with very fine fuzz on my face (as everyone has!) but would say that comparatively i have much less hair then others. It accentuated every hair on my face, and i felt super self conscious wearing it. I don't get why people hype this foundation up, i was really excited to try it and i have been left with nothing but disappointment!

So much better then my estee lauder double wear!

I am so impressed. i watched so many videos on youtube about this i am so pleased i tried it. i went off my estee lauder double wear it wasnt full coverage enough for me and started to make me go patchy and this foundation is a more full coverage hydrating version of it which literally couldnt be more of what i was looking for. I am literally about to order another as my summer tan is fading now so i need a lighter colour. I ordered this from a seller from america as i know you cant really get hold of this in the uk but shipping only took around 10-14 and for the price and quality it is so worth the wait and i know coming from america this will be a genuine product i saw one cheaper which came from Bulgaria which im not sure i trust. If you are hesitant i 100% recommend it and will repurchase again and again. :)
