Poorly packaged

I purchased this lamp for extra lighting on the porch where my husband grills. It works well but wasn't packaged very well. It arrived with the metal shade severely dented and distorted. The metal is super soft, so soft I was able to easily bend it with my hands so it looked better. It's still somewhat bent and I wanted to return it but my husband said he didn't mind the warped look..lol.

Excellent Value for the $ - Arrived Quickly - Easy to Use

This lamp didn't get a 5 star rating only because the nut controlling the tilt up/down of the lamp could be designed better. Even when tightened down hard, the lamp head angle sometimes will slip but only if jarred sufficiently or through above average vibration. I fear though, as the lamp ages, it will only become looser or the threads will strip and it will have to repaired or altered to support the lamp head. But in its defense, I should mention I'm using it with a rather heavy (ceramic) full spectrum LED plant growing light. I did compare the lamp to 3 other lamps we had on hand and it is made with heavier duty materials than the others - 1 of which didn't have a tilt adjustment, the other 2 did and were worn-out or broken, so apparently the tilt adjustment stability is an issue with other manufacturers as well. Otherwise, the lamp has been performing perfectly and seems to manufactured/designed well. I especially appreciate the clamp to secure the lamp to an object. It is especially stiff and stays put very well. I also like the rubber tubing included on that clamp to help ensure against slippage. It would nice if the power cord that was a little bit longer. My decision to buy this particular lamp was based on price, the pictures and other reviews and I am happy with my purchase.

Very Impressed

A very sturdy and solid light. It is of MUCH higher quality than those I've purchased from a big box store probably cost at least twice what I paid for this. The lights I already had are far inferior to this work light. They are flimsy, dent easily and have a dull rather than a highly reflective surface to cast as much light as possible. In short, it is obvious that right out of the box that this work light is in another class altogether. (If I find over its lifetime that it ends up not working well I will certainly update this review.) This light took weeks, rather than days, to arrive, probably because I chose free shipping, so be aware of that if you need it right away. Also, if you are new to using work lights, be sure to purchase "rough service" light bulbs. Regular household light bulbs will not survive the use and abuse a shop light takes.)

Low quality imitation of a classic design

When I took two of these clamp lights out of Amazon's shipping box, I know the reflectors looked to be in perfect condition. The next day, after I had laid them out on my worktable still in their clear sealed bags, I noticed a number of small dents in both. Huh? When I tried pushing a dent out I immediately discovered WHY they had miraculously dented so easily - the aluminum reflectors are as soft as a disposable pie plates! (OK, maybe a double-thickness disposable pie plates - if there is such a thing). I guess I "abused" them - I "threw them down" on my worktable. Yeah, right. Translation is, "I dropped from a height of 1-2 inches, allowing them to strike corners of hard objects, instead of treating them as if they were made of fairy gossamer". What kind of garbage is this!? There is such a thing as "hardened" or "heat treated" aluminum!!! It used to be commonly used in consumer products where malleability was not a desirable product "feature". This is NOT a cutting edge development in metallurgy! I am beyond speechless. Have standards really sunk to this, that consumers are expected to accept goods that LOOK like products which used to be manufactured to last a lifetime with moderate care, but now can be crumbled into a ball by a person of ordinary hand strength? I even had a positive review ready in my mind while these lamps were still in shipment - I was ready to laugh at the people on eBay who pay $40 for beat-up clamp-on reflector lamps as "industrial" or "steampunk", when you can buy a new one on Amazon for a small fraction of the price! I am not laughing so hard now. :-/ At least one that has been kicking around the back of a garage for twenty years might have another twenty years life in it; this item went from "Mint" to "Used - acceptable" in a minute, simply because I mistook it for an article of normal strength for its intended function. Products like this are an insult to the consumer, and since almost all come from one country, I am at least going to organize my own personal boycott, and urge everybody I know to follow suit: Stop shipping garbage to the US that *looks* like a well known product design, but is made out of aluminum only suitable for use in foil wrap. No, I am NOT a xenophobe - I'm PO'd at being sold disposable trash in the shape of a product, made by anonymous manufacturers and sold through mass market websites. Clean up your act, my dear manufacturing powerhouse, and come back when you're ready to do business like someone in for the long haul, not a hit and run dumper of shoddy goods. It used to be when you bought something this shoddy is was stamped "Made in Hong Kong" - now, Hong Kong has been reabsorbed, and it looks like the tail is wagging the dog.

Very reflective!

Use this in conjunction with SANSI Grow Light Bulbs for my houseplants and it works perfectly in terms of reflecting. Cord is smaller than I thought it was and barely reaches my extension cord bar which sucks because using this as a grow light means you need longer than usual cords. If it was for a reptile enclosure the cord length may be fine. Also, the clamp works really great however, I cannot "direct" the light towards a certain direction even though I tighten the screw and bolt thing which kinda sucks. Other than that works fine.

Best value Price/Quality by far

This product came at my door faster than the time it took me to order it online! It also came inside a bullet-proof safe made of bubbles, plastic, and alot of them ! Cheers to the shipping manager of that product, everyone should take notes from that shipment method ! For the product itself, i would have loved to see a picture of the actual "clamp" being used , because of my native language (french) i had no idea i could use this (strong) clamp to hang anywhere ! Shame on me !! Now im happy with my cheap to buy but very good quality product ! I recommend for sure. Just to check how well protected this is, you should buy one !

Good quality cover, works well. The clamp is a little light weight as for my use I have to use the cord to hold the lamp at the desired, the clamp alone slips. Please note I am clamping the light to a small vertical post, not ideal.

Both inside and outside.

This is such a handy light! I use one inside and one outside ( minus 20+ weather). The clamp works on many things and the light position is easily stabilized. The on / off switch is easy to use and far enough away from the reflector so it's less like to get burned when using it. The cord is good quality and long enough for a decent height for the bulb and reflector. The price is fair. Definitely recommend this product for above reasons..
