Trim and solid design, easy installation, excellent customer service
There is a variety of keyless locks available on Amazon. I chose this one because (a) it was from a reputable lock company, (b) it did not include a keyed option (I specifically did NOT want to worry about yet another type of key for our house!), and (c) the design appeared to be sturdy but aesthetically unobtrusive. I am very happy with this lock; it was if anything even better looking in reality than in the photos, installed very easily on my 1 3/4" door, and works like a charm. Further, I misread the instructions for how to do a factory reset (this is kind of awkward; you have to hold down a reset button while reinserting the last battery), but a call to the customer service number was immediately successful (no waiting at all!) and the CS rep quickly explained what I'd missed. Problem solved. Thus not only is this lock everything it's advertised to be, but also the company stands behind its products (which in this day and age is, sadly unusual).

Yale Assure Lock with touchscreen is a great lock
Yale Assure Lock with touchscreen is easy to install, especially if it is replacing an existing dead bolt lock. One of the features I like the most is setting the lock to automatically lock after a specified amount of time such as 30 seconds. The lock is battery operated but can be opened with an included key if desired. Another feature I like is not having to carry another key around with me. I just touch the keypad to wake it up, type in the code, and wha la, the lock opens.

Well made and easy to use
This lock looks good and works well. I hired a locksmith to install it and he was impressed with the quality of the lock as well.

Used in my Airbnb for almost 10 months now since Day 1. Decided to switch to another brand
It is going to be a pain if you are using this lock to remotely manage your house. It will disconnect for no reason, then you won't be able to add/delete/edit any user/code. Usually it happens when you try to change a code for a user, and it fails to save, then prompt it's going to remove the user. Then the disconnection happens. The only way to reconnect to the lock is to physically go to the house and redo the setting. I did my research last year before buying. If google which smart lock is the best for Airbnb, 90% chance you will see Yale pop up as the top brand. That's why I chose it but now very disappointed. Battery usage is also a pain. There was a period of time battery ran out so fast and we couldn't figure out why. I am not the only one complaining about the above in a group of several hundreds of Airbnb hosts. Some people decided not to change because the initial purchase price was high (well the sunk cost :)

The installation instructions on the video download was slow and clear. It went on in mins and the programming just as simple. Ive never installed a door lock before and am not tech savy. They give u every thing u need to do this step by step

Great device when paired with the August Connect module for HomeKit integration!
I have installed several Yale Assure deadbolts as well as HomeKit enabled smart locks from other brands, and this is by far my favorite! The black finish is very sleek and it matches our matte black hardware quite well. For those who want to control this with a Smartphone, theConnected by August Kit is required for HomeKit integration. Alternatively, you can purchase theYale Assure Lock SL with August Connect which simply is these same two components placed into a larger box, and with a $80-90 higher price tag. Installation of this lock requires you to completely remove and replace the existing deadbolt. This is typically done with a phillips screwdriver, and is a very simple 2 minute operation. Once that is removed, the Yale Assure tapered deadbolt latch is installed in the door and the deadbolt mounted around it. After installing so many of these, it takes me less than 2 minutes to do these steps as well. It includes the required four AA batteries, and I suggest replacing them with lithium ion batteries when they expire. The next part can require some extra work, depending on how well aligned your deadbolt is with respect to the latch for the handleset in addition to how well the door seals when it is closed. I suggest attempting to lock the deadbolt with the existing deadbolt strike plate to see how things work before making any changes. I have found that I often have to adjust the handleset strike plate so that it latches with the door squeezed tighter against the seal - this typically requires a chisel to physically relocate the handleset strike plate. Once that is done, install the new deadbolt strike plate such that there is no interference with the deadbolt latch. This step is important, as if the deadbolt rubs against the strike plate it will at best wear your battery prematurely and at worst get jammed. Once that is complete, you can sit back and enjoy the beauty and simplicity that is the Yale Assure Lock SL. I really like that this lock does not have a keyed access. There are quite a few options that you can set on this device, such as volume (including off) and one-touch lock which simply requires you to touch the keypad with your hand to lock the deadbolt - such a timesaver when heading out! I installed the Connected by August module (sold separately ) and that allows me to control this from my iPhone directly from the August iOS app as well as with HomeKit. From the August app, I set up geofencing, so it unlocks when I return home. From HomeKit, I use “Hey Siri” from my iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock the deadbolt. I should note, I also have anAugust Wi-Fi Smart Lock, 4th Generation , and I MUCH prefer this Yale lock over that. The Yale Assure Lock SL simply works better (more reliable WiFi) and has the ability for me to unlock with the keypad.

Some tradeoffs, but otherwise very nice
It's high-time I finally reviewed this thing after installing two-years ago. Previous lock was a Kwikset electronic lock from home depot that was very loud. Pros: The Yale lock install was easy. Batteries last awhile, about 6 months or more depending on how much we use the lock. Mechanism is quieter than previous electronic locks we've used and the lock is very smooth. Cons: Touchscreen is so-so. Looks sleek, however I do miss-press on occasion. The features on this thing are a large reason for the price but we had to turn many of them off. The audible "door locked" is annoying late at night when the house is sleeping. The 'one-touch locking' results in many accidental locks before closing the door, which has damaged our door trim a bit. The auto-locking feature is nice sometimes, but other times it sucks to take the garbage out to come back to a locked door. Overall: Worth the buy for how it looks alone. I may replace for the version with actual buttons, but I would stay with Yale.

No Z-wave module include
This lock does not come with the module to integrate it to a home hub. Don’t advertise that it will work and then not supply the module. The cheaper lock with a keypad and physical key does come with the module. Makes no sense

Simple is th best
I had a smart lock before. It wasn’t easy to install despite I am good at setting up software and mechanical stuffs. The smart part never worked. After a while, the battery kept needed to change. This time, I wanted something simple. I purposely chose this model that doesn’t connect to any home network or Bluetooth. My family loves it. This lock is suitable for the following people: 1) you don’t need open or close door remotely. You don’t need notifications of the door’s status. 2) you have kids that don’t own smart phones. They can easily access with the code. I also run without bring my phone. 3) you live in a house not apartment. In case you are locked out, there are other ways to get in. 4) you want something simple to install and to use. 5) longer battery life because the lock doesn’t have to communicate with any hubs, wifi, or Bluetooth.

No More House Keys
This is our second Yale Assure lock. We had the same lock, along with the Wi-Fi module at our previous home and left it when we moved. I was really happy with the first one and couldn’t wait to get another one. It’s a bit challenging to set up because the doors never seem to be 100% compatible. Takes a bit of finesse. But once it’s set up, it’s so easy to use and, when used with the network module, works great on Wi-Fi with the Apple Home app. Unlock the door before you leave the car. Give the kids and guests their own passcodes. Auto-lock after a set period of time so you never have to worry that you forgot. Best of all, throw your house key away.

Very good smart lock
It is easy to install unless the size of your original hole on your door is smaller , you need to expand the hole ! Also it’s easy to program and operate !
