A few issues, but not bad for a Zebco
I bought this because I wanted a lighter action casting rod for a reel that has 7 lb mono line capacity, and I wanted an old-skool fiberglass rod. The guides are a little nicer than the cheaper Zebco rods. It casts decently for an inexpensive rod. It appears to be constructed adequately except for the foam handle forward of the reel seat has a large gap between it and the rod blank. The reel seat "trigger" has a rough casting ridge that seemed to sort of cut into my finger. I had to carefully file and sand the molding flash to make it more comfortable. It's a little more expensive here on Amazon, compared to other local stores, but I ordered it here because I could not find the 5'6" ML power in stock elsewhere. The first one I ordered was destroyed in shipping in what seems like barely leaving the warehouse–before it even made too far. I got a message it was shipped, then quickly a message it was damaged it transit. I had to reorder.

First one, the reel clamp cracked. The Second one I left reel slightly loose.
Put fishing poles and reels inside tackle box.

NOT a 6'6" fishing rod!
I called Amazon Customer Service upon receiving this because this page is just wrong & confusing. The Manufacturer/Seller only adds to that in answering the question on pistol grip. The spur on the backside makes a casting rod a "trigger grip" the shorter grip with spur/trigger & a palm swell makes it a "pistol grip". The rod I received is 5'6" pistol grip & is pretty nice & pistol grip rods are becoming scarcer to find as not many manufacturers offer them anymore. I'd love to give this 5 stars for comfort & quality but since I was mislead by a foot in length, I just can't. I feel a bit silly because I read many favorable reviews on the "6'6" " rod. None mentioned the reality that it was only 5'6". I am fully within rights to return it. I'm not sure just now if I will since it feels so nice in my hand, it depends on how the vintage Zebco reel I ordered for what should have been a 6 foot 6 inch rod balances & feels on this. I may upgrade my rating if Zebco corrects this misleading page.

Broken when received
Tip was broken off I wanted the pistol grip and kept rod and repaired myself. If rod wasn't broken would be 5 stars

Work great with my vintage 33 zebco reel.
It did not arrive on time. Was listed as lost. Got a refund. Then had to call and repay for it. But I like the rod, only lost the time, plus the shipping was removed. So overall it worked out great.

Great rod but needs to be a little bit more flexible
Took this rod on a recent fishing trip and I’m impressed but I find that it could use a little more flexibility in the tip for so your bait just don’t fall out of the air like it’s hit a brick wall. Otherwise good starter baitcast rod.

stronger than it looks
just a dandy little rod for close in margin fishing .I use it with a old zebco 33 reel and have caught carp to 5 pounds with it with out any problems.

Drop your expectations a little with this...
The first thing I noticed was that there was a broken Guide for the fishing line. I repaired it thinking that it was good to go. The first time I used it, it was as flexible as I’d expected but it had no Eyelet for the line to hook to when storing the rod. Also, it makes a creaking noise when I jig the rod..I not sure if that’s due to the repair job or the quality of the rod. I’m planning on adding the final Eyelet and enjoying the rod until that creaking sound reveals its self.
