Looks Good only in for one week

Able to add to top of 4X4 wood post with the use of added metal plate sold separately. I also bought from home depot a 4X4 metal support bracket to attach the two foot 4X4 post to the 4X4 post that was in the ground. The metal plate attached to the mail box with some washers and simple nuts that I also bought separately.(The nuts that came with it were a pain to put on) I bought a box of stainless steel screws to attach the metal support bracket to the 4X4 posts and the mail box. (cost more, but worth the investment in our wet climate) Took less than one hour to install on a 4X4 wooden post that was already in the ground.

A solid, sturdy and (presumably) secure mailbox

When it came time to replace our crumbling, stone mailbox pillar, it was suggested that we get a mailbox with a lock for added security. While mail theft in our area has not been much of a problem, the dimensions of this box suited what we envisioned for our overall design and the lock was an added bonus. I particularly liked the three-point locking system which seems much more secure than a single, center latch. (You might have seen a one-star review for this product with a photo that shows a row of mailboxes that have been attacked and opened...but note that not one of the vandalized boxes shown has this three-point locking system.) Admittedly, a determined thief could likely force open this design --- or most any other --- but it won't be easy. The vendor sells a mounting plate for the mailbox separately --- which isn't mentioned in the listing --- but I found that it bolted quite well on its own directly to the 4x4s at the core of our pedestal. The only problem I have found is that, despite the attractiveness and security of the new mailbox, the quality of our mail hasn't improved any.

Pretty nice for the price

I bought this for my wife for a Christmas present. We needed a mailbox upgrade, and i liked this one because it could accept small packages. I also liked it because i wanted it to enclose it with wood, and this one was box shaped, instead of the standard curved top, making it easier to notch out for me. We haven’t had problems with mail theft, but it still seemed like a good idea to have a locking mailbox, just in case. It seems to be sturdy and well constructed, and with this setup I’m not too concerned with it getting knocked over by kids playing mailbox baseball. My wife is happy now, and as they say: Happy Wife = Happy Life. Our curb appeal has now officially been boosted! If i can remember, I’ll update this review in a year to let everyone know how it’s held up

Need all 3 part and post for it

It worth it do no more worrying on the mail has a spot for out going mail and yes easy to lock and 2 keys so you get what you get install well best to get all 3 parts and install only take like a a hr and half

Great security mailbox

I am happy with my purchase as my PO BOX fees have gone through the roof and I decided to invest that money in my own curbside box. It's perfect! Do note that the post is not included and I was able to find a steel post elsewhere, but the equipment, plate/screws to attach box to post does come with the mailbox.

Great for the do it yourselfer's

Live in the Seattle area, and if your mailbox does not lock, you only get 1/2 your mail, except the advertising flyers, you will still get those. The price was less than the big box retailer that begins with "L" and a quick shipper. Easy install with a 3 point locking system.
