Good Value But Not For Rough Duty

After arriving to work several times with banana excrement all over my files in my backpack, laptop, and other personal effects I learned about this product from the receptionist at my Doctors office. I love the concept, but the weak link of this item is the hinges, and the clasp. On day two of having this product I was wearing it on my belt loop, more to make a statement to my carpool than anything, and when I got in the car and sat down the banana protector got pinned between the seat and the side of the car and broke open. The clasp fractured off, and the hinge partially severed. The banana fell between the seat and the car frame and as I couldn’t get it until I got to our destination it was destroyed by my co worker’s size 13D foot without him even seeing it as the car was dark. So I lost the banana protector, the banana, and if that wasn’t enough I suffered significant ridicule and humiliation from my car pool mates who thought I was crazy to buy it in the first place. The good news is that Amazon immediately replaced the banana protector free of charge. Gotta love Amazon! So I can recommend this product with some reservation as to how it’s used, keeping it in the backpack probably is a better idea than wearing it. Also you may want to consider the use of a rubber band to keep the device closed while in transit. Hope this helps. Tony T.

Protect your banana--always

Bought this as a gift. If you wrap it a certain way, the recipient may think it's something else! Overall the product was durable and large/well shaped enough to hold most bananas. We tried a larger banana and it wouldn't fit.

Fits almost all size bananas

Love this. I hate bruises on my bananas. Not i can throw it in my bag and not worry about it, instead of carrying it in hand to prevent mush.

Everyone is jealous of my banana saver!!

This was an impulse buy, and I am so glad I clicked buy! I work in a restaurant and always take bananas for a snack. They either get smooshed and turn brown in my bag, or if I leave it out to prevent that then someone steals them. Not anymore! This is the perfect shape to hold a banana! I have used it with 8 inch bananas down to 4 inch ones. It holds them all the same. The bigger ones work better because then the stem sticks out the top so it looks like a giant banana. The curve is just right to fit any size. Everyone that sees this product is impressed and wants to know where I got it. I usually clip the carabiner to the strap of my bag and have this hang on the inside. I will never have a smooshed banana again! It also keeps the banana smell from seeping into other things (like how if you store a banana by a bag of chips, the chips end up with a bananaey flavor) - but not when using this! If you take bananas out with you, then order this now! Best $10 you'll spend this month! Oh, and the clip that other people mentioned looking cheap - I can see where they are coming from that it looks like it might eventually snap off, but I have been using it daily for a month and haven't had any issues with it. I'm not worried about it breaking off. One last thing - the description states this is a small size. While it isn't exactly huge, I wouldn't really call it small. It is 9" long, not including the clip.

Bulky but works great

I love these. I bought two. When I first opened it I thought it was way too big and was not the proper shape. I was wrong. When I put a banana in it, it fit perfectly. I am able to through it in my work bag with all my other things and it does not get damaged. The hinges seem cheap so we will see about that over time.

Great! No Bruises!

I was so excited to get this thing for my bananas. I am in school and hate when I take a banana for a snack and have it in my backpack it gets all bruised and brown. I just received it for xmas and have used it for two days and so far so good. I will notice when I get banana to get more shaped ones like the holder so i am not making bruises myself. The only thing I have issues with is the clasp that closes the container and wondering if it will last, it's not as strong as I think it could be. For bananas that don't match the container, they still fit but you have to use a little force but work out and not bruised on the inside just some browning on the peel. I looked at other containers on here and didn't care for the way they looked and the reviews. This one may not have many but I am happy with it and will update review if something goes wrong.

not durable

Not durable by keep buying it as there are no alternatives. Other banana cases are either too big or too small. this product always breaks from the lock, i have changed the hanger too with a better one. however I keep buying it again when it breaks cz It keeps the banana from being mushy...

Save your money, it’s a bust

The good news is that it arrived promptly as promised. The bad news is we never got a chance to use it because when we slid off the cardboard wrap around it, the snap lock fell off so it swings open. Save your money. Never even got a chance to open and close it. Disappointing.
