Added feature not in the manual

Overall I like this fan. However after installation the fan stayed on much longer than I expected even with the timer set to 5 minutes and the humidity level set to 80%. After calling tech support I found that there is an added feature to disable ( I think ) the rapid humidity sensing circuitry. Although their instuctions were not clear as they should of been, there is a small opening near the timer marking of 60 minutes. If you use a toothpick to insert into this hole a LED will light up and if you hold it there long enough another LED will light up. These LEDs will not stay lit but, this sequence I believe will disable the rapid humidity sensing and thus only the humidity sensing will be working. This information is my best understanding. Sorry. You can contact Broan for more details .

The humidity censor DOES NOT work

The humidity censor got us excited and as a result we ended up ordering 5 more of them to install on other bathrooms. However, the sensor doesn't work (contractor tested it), not only the sensor is sitting idle now but I had to return the other five units. Sorry, I am wasting money as contractor already installed the unit (of course without the sensor)... I am very disappointed

This fan works great. When the shower comes on so does this fan.

Loud

Fan is much louder than expected and as others have indicated, auto humidity control doesn't work well. Bought as a replacement during bathroom remodel that took longer than expected. Would return if I still had that option.

Good idea, poor execution.

I would not purchase again. Sensor operation does not work as advertised. After installation, fan would turn on at odd times for no reason. After reading review above I found the hidden switch under the hole covered by the label. Tried that and seemed to work but today it did not start untill 20 minutes after I showered. To hard to pull out to return, so I am just bypassing the humidity controls and putting in a time tested timer switch.

Humidity sensor should be a standard.

Good product, sadly the high price point makes it a luxury item most will avoid. This one was installed in a seniors bathroom who always forgets to turn on the fan after a shower this is a paint/mold saver.
