Tldr: The unit gets clothes fabulously clean. However there is a learning curve. Many cycles and options, but not that great to use out of the box because of the quirks. Liquid fabric softener is doable, but a drag in this machine. I owned the prior model and this one is a major upgrade, especially in terms of power. My favorite washer ever! Full Monty: The unit is just great once you get the hang of it. I'll put some tidbits down for now and update as I learn more. So the unit is cute and fit in the space we needed it to. The dimensions in the listing are spot on so you can easily measure for yourself. The color is very nice and the quality of the finish is excellent. Honestly, its an attractive little tub and i love showing her off to my girlfriends who have all just loved it. They especially like the soft close lid! The machine washes clothes like wow! So clean. The agitation is powerful as ot comes, the spin cycle is fantastic, and like its predecessor, it does not move a millimeter, even when drying the bulkiest loads. (Don't unbalance the machine tho!) Cold wayer wash is amazing BUT this is where the quirks come in. The Normal cycle is not a regular normal cycle. So first off, the machine starts on the Jeans cycle, which ironically is more of a normal cycle, just with a double rinse. If you select the Normal wash with cold water the machine will go into an eco mode. This means your clothes will spin for 85, yes eighty-five minutes. This setting is unalterable as well, which is just a tad annoying. Long story short, for a normal cold water wash, simply power the machine on and leave it on the Jeans cycle and select cold water. Just remember that you get two rinses. Buuut, lol, you can easily modify this setting to one rinse for whatever reason. In fact, other than the insane unalterable 85 minute spin, no thanks, just about every other setting is cusomizable. Just think of jeans as normal and normal as eco when using cold water. Quirk 2. You have to pause the machine to add liquid fabric softener. Yes the machine has a convenient little compartment in the detergent tray, but NO NO NO you should not use it. It just dumps it in with the detergent. This is the worst. Detergent and fabric softener neutralize each other when used at the same time. Fabric softner should always be added to the rinse, never the wash, so of couse i was a bit disappointed. But I quickly figured out the timing of the cycles. Generally speaking, the final rinse begins filling at 17-20 minutes. A word of advice. Use the pause button or your washing machine will yell at you. Of course you can just use fabric softener sheets in the dryer, and i do, but then the little cup in the detergent tray serves but one purpose. To piss me off. Other than these caveats, this is my favorite washer of all time. I owned the previous generation of this machine. Comfee is made by Midea which makes all kinds of appliances marketed under lots of brands. Our previous one was a Midea branded as a GE. Same footprint, sameish but older parts, panel yada yada. It too was quirky, but i loved it dearly. When ol Bessie died, we knew that there was only one choice. The exact same machine. But wait. GE no longer offered a 2.4 cu ft compact top load stainless steel drum washing machine. Boo. Well GE is a brand, not a manufacturer. Looked that up. Midea. Looked up Mideas brands. Did a little hunting. Mama finds the one! I feel so great about this purchase. Seriously. Ain't nobody dope as me. I'm just so fresh. So fresh and so clean clean.
