Beautiful and easily installed.

The COSMO COS-5U30 has totally enhanced our kitchen. Has a sleek stainless appearance that gives our kitchen a professional kitchen look. Provides great lighting with the two front Led Lights and fantastic exhaust that cleared out our our burned bacon smell in seconds. Love the ease of use with the push of a button. Install and instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. For the recirc install you will have to order the filter, however easily found on Amazon for $15.00. The entire range hood appears Great quality material, stainless steel clean look! Wife approved so our home is happy again!

Great value for the price

We bought this hood range to replace our old one that we've had for over 12 years. We were highly impressed by the look and how inexpensive this was. We were able to easily install it and it looks great. We highly recommend this product for those who have a ductless hood range.

Good Basic Hood

It fits perfectly and serves its purpose for what we need. A bit annoyed that it didn’t come with a filter. Cannot use it until we have the filter. The company that sold it puts a free filter print out in the box for you to be able to get a filter mailed to you. Filters go for $20 plus shipping when you need replacement. Seems kind of high for an item you need to buy congruently.

Easy!

In our new home the smoke detectors go off whenever we cook on the stove. This range hood is so nice and easy to install. We don't have many options for our small kitchen, so installed the ductless option. It fit perfectly and looks so nice with our kitchen appliances. We used it yesterday with roasting in the oven on the lowest setting worked well and was very quiet. We haven't cooked stove top yet but I'm confident the fan will work. Not crazy about the blue led light which it was a bit warmer and I'd use it more.

Great size for price!

Outlet damper is 4.7”

This exhaust fan is overall very nice. Reasonable price and good suction. However, you will have to modify a 5” to 4” reducer to get the outlet damper to fit with the most common US 4” duct. Surprising I haven’t seen this mentioned. If you are not handy with tin snips etc… this will be a problem.

Great Value!

Great looking and functioning Range Hood! Looks great over my new Black/SS Range. The 3 speed fan is amazingly powerful and you can feel the exhaust (I have the ductless version). The light is in the back so the entire range lights up; super! Very easy to install, removed the old and installed the new in less than an hour. Highly recommend!

Nice Range Hood

I purchased the 36 inch version of this range hood for a rental remodel. I was happy with it and liked the way it looked, so I purchased this 30 inch hood to replace the old Kenmore that I had at my home. This has three fan speeds and one LED light. (The 36 inch had two, so was it was brighter). Would have liked the light to be a little brighter, but I’m okay with it. The fan is much quieter than my old one. I had this vented to the outside. Overall, I am very happy with it.

Beware! Its incomplete, parts are missing !

Despite description which states it is for duct/ductless installation, it comes without internal filters. You are supposed to purchase them seperatly. They are free in US, but in Canada you gotta pay for shipping. What a joke. Customer service winds out by claiming that it gets sold as is for a "ducted installation". But even then, there is no duct etc. included. This is a scam and a total rip off - for a paperthin tinbox. Canadian customers are getting screwed. Not worth the money. Buy a different brand or shop locally.

Works great but installation instructions not completely accurate

Nice range hood, good purchase, seems to be well-made, looks clean and easy to operate. Six screws affix the unit; 2 wall-mounted and 4 into the bottom of the cabinet. The instructions ask for 8 mm holes to be drilled into the wall 0.78" below the cabinet into which plugs and screws are inserted. The unit is then hung from these two screws to allow the installation of the undercabinet screws. However, 0.78" doesn't allow enough clearance for the range hood to be hung, the measurement should be about 1.25". Also, the 4 screws included to affix the unit to the underside of the cabinet are too long (cabinets are typically 5/8 - 3/4" thick and the screws are 1 1/4" long).

Lighting is lacking, suction is mediocre

It wouldn't be fair to qualify this range hood as 'bad', but it is lacking in some important areas. #1 as many other reviewers have noted, it comes set up for a ducted installation. For recirculation, you need to purchase additional carbon filters to actually remove odor and grease. There is a promotion for 'free' filters when you leave a review, but for Canadian customers they charge $10 shipping on what is ostensibly a $20 'free' item, so that chafes a little. #2, and this is a pet peeve of mine, the lights are not replaceable - they're built in proprietary LEDs with a fixed colour temperature of ~6500K, meaning they'll look waaaay out of place with all your warm interior lighting in the evening (see photos). I don't know why manufacturers insist on doing this instead of a standard GU10 socket, but my guess is for planned obsolescence or the ability to charge you an arm and a leg for a replacement LED unit when they inevitably die. Positives - it's fairly easy to install unless you have a recessed cabinet base (which unfortunately I did). It sucks, a little, and makes the kitchen look a bit nicer (until you turn the light on and your stovetop becomes the visual equivalent of that one-hit-wonder Eiffel 65 song).

easy to install, except removing the blue stuff was so hard. once installed looks and works great

if you have older 12" deep cabinets, mounting could be tricky because you need nearly 1" for the power cord. it is feasible to adjust the plastic piece holding the power cord straight but that's a 'better know what you're doing' type issue. power is 44" long maybe in the factory, after internal routing you get about 35" (in my case) half an hour or so peeling off blue stuff and under 10 minutes to mount it. As someone looking for as simple an install as possible i scored 100% with this unit. Install was easy, i measured and drilled the holes for the front first, sat the unit on the screws (its lite enough) and quickly mounted the rear pair of screws. The front and rear have the wide holes that narrow so you can slide the hood on and off, i didnt want that and the rear has permanent holes so i used those. i was worried about vibrations and 'keeds' :) It looks nice and clean and i never thought about it but i appreciate the lack of some big stupid logo on the unit. its just the buttons and looks clean. the metal is thin but decent, doesnt bend or ding easily. The leds are nice, good amount of light, i got the 6500k to match my kitchen. The blue stuff wow, I ended up being impressed by how scratch resistant it is. its too bad they couldnt wrap my car in it. fan is good, its what i expected, its not silent but even on low the steam etc from the stove immediately flows up and out. there's a low whine, its low though so fades into the background easily. its there but low and i dont have to adjust my volumes when its on low or medium. I didnt test high, low-med gets me what i need. super happy, totally recommend.

Exactly what I was looking for. **update**

It was easy to install, looks good, was affordable and seem strong. I’m a happy customer. **update** It looks beautiful but it doesn't suck even at the highest speed. The fan in my bathroom is stronger than this. I guess that’s why it was cheap. I sent all the pics and reviews to get the free filter and never got anything. I didn’t need them, so it didn’t affect me very much. But I thought I comment on it. Honestly, I would not recommend this product unless you are only buying it for the looks and not for what it was meant for. Spend the extra $100 and buy a real one.
