Better than most other options, but much room for improvement

I really love their connectors and how easy the product is to use overall. I agree with some people that have posted that the central fitting seems like a bad implementation. Also, it doesn't really stand on its own when you pull the hose out, unless you're pulling it perfectly perpendicular to the support leg, and that leg is fully extended. I do prefer this to other solutions I've had, but it seems like they've spent much more time thinking about their connectors and less about using some of the products. Still, I would recommend it.

Wished it did not leak out of the box

I liked the sleekness and the guided hose reel. I thought this was the ticket. But, as soon as I turned it on it leaked out of the hose reel fitting. Shame cool design

Length Capacity GREATLY Overstated and Connector Hose is only 1/2"

Assembly was fairly straight forward and easy. The hose winding guide appears to function well but does not look very heavy duty so may be an issue if trying to wind a longer hose with more resistance (will have to watch for this). I noticed that the 5 ft. connector hose was labeled as only 1/2" even though I purchased the L version that reported reel capacity of 5/8" hose. Ridiculous to not include a 5/8" hose when the capacity is stated as using 5/8". Manufacturer saved a few cents on smaller diameter hose that I will have to go through trouble of replacing. Speaking of capacity, I purchased this model because it stated 260 ft. of 5/8" hose and I needed to allow for connection of 2-100 ft. long hoses. Attached picture shows that only 1-100 ft. hose plus 1-25 ft. hose (each 5/8") just about fills the reel beyond which the hose would start binding against the winding guide. Thats less than 100 ft below the reported capacity. I guess it's all legitimate because they state "up to 260 ft. 5/8" hose" so technically it could be anywhere between 0 ft. and 260 ft. (buyer beware!). I guess I'll find another use for it as it would be a real pain to disassemble for return.

Big claims

No way this can hold 265 feet of 5/8 hose, I tried to roll a 100 ft. Good quality 5/8 hose and it wouldn't pull it through the grass, "nothing on the end" ,I thought it was going to break the handle. I disconnected half the hose and rolled up 50 ft. that's about all that would fit on it. The descriptions are all over the place don't know which size "M" has more capacity .

Like England football, will just end up with disappointment

I’m a slow learner so even though I’ve never liked plastic products for reasons of durability, I thought with a german made product, maybe it would be okay. First one came broken, sent it back, only to get a second one broken in the exact same spot. I tried contacting Gardena, but they chose not to respond to my email which was the only method I was given on their website. Ultimately I returned the second one, with somewhat of a hassle I might add, as I had already begun assembly and could not then fit the pieces back into the box. Although I’m sure I haven’t learned my lesson regarding plastic, I won’t be attempting to purchase a Gardena product again.

Hose connector will leak, cheap plastic

Plastic hose connector leaks. I received the replacement plastic hose connector and it lasted less than 1 year just like the first one. Going to trash can.

Wirklich schlecht....

Wollte dem Schlauchwagen trotz der teils erschreckenden Rezensionen eine Chance geben. Leider habe auch ich nichts Gutes zu berichten. Der Wagen kam ohne Umverpackung im Originalkarton. Alle Einzelteile lagen lose im Karton, es gab keinerlei Polsterung. Der Karton war nicht zugeklebt. Eine Lasche war bereits offen. Ingesamt hat das Paket den Eindruck gemacht, dass es schon einmal bei einem anderen Kunden war. Ich steckte die ersten Teile zusammen und bemerkte dabei die erste Bruchstelle in der Trommel. Mir war sofort klar, dass die Ware zurück geht, daher baute ich gar nicht erst weiter, sondern machte mich an wieder einpacken. Dabei bemerkte ich noch eine weitere Bruchstelle in einem anderen Teil und Gebrauchsspuren (?) an einem anderen. Insgesamt machten alles Teile eher ein qualitativ schlechten Eindruck. Plastik über Plastik und etwas dünnes Metall, welches sicherlich innerhalb der ersten Nutzungsjahre brechen wird. Leider habe ich die Trommel jetzt schon zusammengesteckt und sie lässt sich nicht mehr demontieren, sodass ich mir für den Rückversand eine größeren Karton suchen muss. Ich bin hier wirklich extrem enttäuscht über diese derart ungenügende Qualität von Gardena und erstmals auch von Amazon, dass ein Paket so versendet wird. Es bleibt der fade Beigeschmack, dass es sich um Retourware eines anderen Kunden handeln könnte und diese dann ungeprüft an mich ging. Ich gehe jedoch davon aus, dass wenigstens der Rückversand reibungslos klappt.

Super Schlauchwagen

Nachdem nun der 2. No-Name Schlauchwagen seinen Geist aufgegeben hat (windschief, Kurbelbruch) habe ich seit kurzem den neuen Gardena Schlauchwagen im Einsatz und muss feststellen, daß der Unterschied doch enorm ist: hochwertiges elastisches Plastik wird hier verarbeitet und beim Zusammenbau passt ein Teil ins andere. Die Standfestigkeit ist top und der Aufrollmechanismus ist auch empfehlenswert. Da bei vielen Rezensionen eine Undichte bei der Wasserzufuhr bemängelt wird, hierzu ein Tipp: Es ist sehr wichtig, daß beim Zusammenbau der Wasserdurchlaufstutzen von innen nach aussen fest angedrückt wird bis ein Klacken hörbar ist. Einige Fotos bei Rezensionen deuten auf fehlerhaften Einbau hin. Die Plastikkralle muss hörbar über den Führungsring schnappen. Dann ist auch beim äußeren Wasseranschluß genug Spiel vorhanden (siehe Fotos) , er reibt sich nicht am Gehäuse und er kann sich beim Kurbeln nicht lösen. Leider fehlt in der Beschreibung bei den Abbildungen das Klack-Symbol. Zudem sprühe ich bewegliche Plastikteile ab und zu mit Silikonspray ein um die Reibung zu vermindern.

Très déçu ne remplis pas son cahier des charges !

Franchement déçu, on voit que malgré le prix Gardena tends comme beaucoup d'autres boîtes a concevoir des produits pour les vendre et pas pour qu'ils soient pratique, je dirais même que ce produit n'est pas conforme aux caractéristiques inscrites pour la longueur et diamètre de tuyau enroulable... Avec le diamètre maxi de flexible 50m doivent être enroulable mais arrivé a environ 40m d'enroulement il est quasi impossible de continuer a enrouler, la roulette guide flexible se coince constamment et donc l'enroulement devient vraiment très chiant voir impossible ! Pour ma part j'enroule les 40m et les 10m restant je les entortille autour du manche... Ras le bol de passer 15min a ranger son tuyau... Quand on vends un enrouleur censé permettre l'enroulement de 50m avec un diamètre de 19mm il est censé pouvoir le faire la c'est clairement pas le cas et j'ai le sentiment de m'être fait avoir ! Gardena je ne vous remercie pas et vous encourage vivement de revoir votre copie ! Pour moi c'est de l'emballage et caractéristiques mensongers...

Dissapointing Outcome

GARDENA CleverRoll M Easy: Hose trolley with up to 60 m capacity, especially stable, convenient, robust metal hose guide, anti-drip device, tool-free Thats the claim but what about in the real world! Hose trolley with up to 60 m (13mm hose) capacity - Not a chance with gardena 13mm hose - 50m hose fills it up especially stable - Nope, falls over all the time convenient - if it is stops leaking/falling over and handles dont snap off! robust metal hose guide - only side arms are metal - rest is 100% plastic. Anti-drip device - not sure which part this refers to - drum rotation catches on side frame and unwinds pipe connection creating leaks. Tool Free - wahooo - something that is true ! Sadly what you build is rather disapointing. Easy to assemble - tick that box... its modern click, click and done but this isnt always a good idea when things go wrong! For me - it can now indicate if its a toy or a proper product you can have confidence in. I used with 50m x 13mm gardena hose. The unit claims to be suitable for 60m so 50m should have been fine. Jjust too flimsy cheap design to function with the weight of the recomended 50m hose The weight of the loaded hose drum is too much when loaded with the 50m hose (might be ok with smaller hose lengths) and the drum side guides are too shallow to hold the hose in place when extending it out. The drum gets up a little speed when you walk the hose out (sensibly), the hose drum simply spins the hose over the side guides, the hose then traps between the drum/frame and the unit falls over when you pull to get more hose. Time after time after time. Then you get unluckly and the drum wind up handle takes the brunt of the fall and because its cheap plastic it simply snaps off! And thats it ... Kaput! Broken in such a place that you cant access the shaft to do anything about it. Two units same issue, not taking on a 3rd. Purchased on Amazon so contacted the supplier Supplier simply told me to contact the manufacturer in Germany and take it up with them under warranty... just want to say thank you Amazon customer support for stepping in as this was a final nice cherry on the overall experience. Worse things to compain about I know but hopefully this is offers a bit of help to help save others valuable time and money. Am taking up the A-Z claim option and will see what happens.

Best hose reel ever.

Solid, well made and easy to operate. Especially like the mechanism wheel that evenly distributes the hose back onto the reel. It’s much easier to wind the hose back on when you’re finished, Recommend the 60m reel for 50m hose. Got a great deal on Amazon £82 with 20m of spare hose, connectors and spray nozzle which is quality. I bought 50m of hose pipe separately, put it on the new reel and I’m using the 20m hose to extended the length when I need to. Hope that helps you. Update: used it several times now, can’t believe I’ve managed so long without one, it’s fabulous, saves lots of time and hassle, so easy to move around.
