Great extendable shoehorn!
I have bad knees, so it’s really hard to get my shoes on in this works fantastic!

Working well for 3+ years. Though color scheme is terrible.
I've owned this shoe horn for about 3 and a half years now. During that time I've used it just about every morning - extending and locking the arm, using it as a long stick to pull my dress shoes out from under the shelf where I keep them overnight, and then... you know... shoehorning into my shoes. Then, I'm in the habit of of using the shoehorn as a stick to open a hard-to-reach curtain in my bedroom, before collapsing the shoehorn and returning it to the shelf where it lives. It doesn't seem to have suffered any wear and tear in that time, and it's made my mornings a little bit easier and a little more pleasant. I remember being concerned when I checked out the Amazon photos that the plastic horn might be too thick for comfortably getting into shoes, but that has never been a problem. That said, there is one thing I don't like about it: the purple-and-silver color scheme looks... bad. Very bad. Ideally I'd keep the shoehorn on a hook by my dress shoes. If it were black-and-silver, it would look great next to a row of oxfords. Purple and silver though? I hide this thing on an out-of-sight shelf when I'm not using it. Nevertheless, I try to make a point of reviewing my Amazon purchases 1+ years after I buy them, so that I can report on their longevity to others. I'm happy to give this item 5 stars for its longevity and usefulness.

The best by far
I ordered four of the best rated shoes horns and different types. I was trying to find a shoe horn for my dad who has Parkinsons and back issues. He tried them all and this one is the best by far. The 331/2 inch reach works for even a tall person with no bending. Sturdy, stiff, and smooth use. (Forget the flex shoe horns...they are frustrating to use as they flex too much.) Shorter stiff shoe horns work fine if you are sitting or can bend over a bit but why waste the money? This one can be used sitting or standing by adjusting the height. Just twist it to lock it in place once you have it at the height you want. Telescoping handle makes for easy storage or to pack and take with. Nice hook hole on the end of the handle so it can hang in closet or wall for easy reach. The handle is big enough to grip easily and have good control. I am buying more for my family and to have in several closets near shoes. Just makes life easier whether you have health issues or not. So nice not to have to sit down to put on shoes or pinch fingers or crush the backs your shoes. Hey I don't write reviews often but this product deserves it. I wasted my money on the other shoes horns so it makes me feel better if I help someone else avoid the hassle.

This tool does the job!
I'm 6'3" and I've got arthritis in my left knee, and that makes putting on my left shoe rather painful. I've been used to the pain as an essential part of my day until finding a similar product in my usual clothing store. The problem with the item I saw there was the shoehorn was on a spring, so it wouldn't stay in place. So I looked on-line and found this telescoping model. It works wonderfully. You just unscrew a half turn, extend, and turn a half turn to lock it. Then fit your shoe. Unscrew a half turn, contract, and turn a half turn to return it to its shortened length. Its compressed length makes it quite manageable as opposed to a rigid length shoehorn, and I have no signs of weakness or fatigue after about a month of daily use. When this one wears out, I plan on getting another one just like it.

The replacement for all the others
I've tried the the plastic ones with a shaft that looks like bamboo. They are way too flimsy except as a back scratcher. I've tried the metal omes with a spring base between the shaft and the horn. The spring just made it bend too easily for my use. I'm sure it works well for someone out there or it never would have been engineered this way, but for me it just folds under the heel. This shoe horn is perfect. It's sturdy where you need it to be. The adjustible shaft makes it easy to set the perfect size. It's strong enough to hold straight at the heel so you can slide your foot in the shoe. The adjustable length lets you use it while standing or sitting. Goodwill will be getting my old ones. longer than I thought
I measure this shoehorn at 22 inches long in its nonextended position. For whatever reason, I thought it would be maybe 15 inches long. For my purposes, the 22 inches was more cumbersome to pack in my duffle bag than I thought it would be. But, it seems to work fine and feels to be reasonably hardy in these days of cheap Chinese junk.

THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE WRONG!!!
This arrived today (08-03-17) and promptly earned 1 Star. The reason is the instructions on the packaging are absolutely incorrect. They instruct the user to "Twist the Locking Safety Ring counter clockwise to unlock. Adjust Shoe horn to the appropriate length, and turn the Locking Safety Ring clockwise to securely lock". WRONG!! The Safety Locking Ring is not even a ring. It is a stationary fitting through which the tubing for the horn end passes. It seems to also contain the friction lock. Proper operation as follows. Remove the product from the packing/instruction card Disregard the instructions Hold the horn end in one hand and the handle end in the other. Twist them gently counterclockwise (opposite each other) to unlock the tubing. Adjust the tubing to desired length Once again hold one end in each hand & twist CLOCKWISE gently to lock in position. Gently is the key word here. Locking requires no force; simply a gentle twist until it stops I will continue to use the Health Smart Long Handled No Bend Telescopic Shoe Horn, as it's build quality seems to be good. Especially at this price point. My expectation is that it will earn more stars BUT may not get them until the manufacturer fixes the bogus instructions. I hope folks find this helpful. Best Edward

Looks okay but we'll see hwo it stands up to use
Rating: a preliminary 4 stars, subject to review The item arrived solidly packed into its box but inside sn Amazon shipping box that was 5 feet long, more than twice as long as the shoehorn's box inside. What a ridiculous waste of space. I was expecting a black shoehorn but it turned out to be a dull red plastic on an aluminum sliding tube. The slide works stiffly enough to hold the shadt in place although I imagine that if the shoe was a tight fit, pulling up on the handle might extend the shaft to its full length. The actual shoe horn is made of plastic and has quite a pronounced curvature in it. For dress shoes and low backed shoes this should cause no problem but for high top running shoes it's best to hold the shaft at an angle away from the body so the horn fits better into the shoe. And since the plastic is only slightly flexible I can imagine that a lot of pressure could cause it to break but we'll have to wait to see how it works out in use. The aluminum shaft seems thick enough to withstand a lot and that's encouraging. It bothers me that things that are supposedly designed for the Health market -- In this case the brand is called Health Smart -- are so expensive. Reach extenders are a good example and so, really, is this shoehorn. Surely something made of plastic and aluminum in Taiwan shouldn't have to cost this much, but it does. If there is anything new to report after some use I'll update this review.

Estupendo!
Práctico y conveniente. Hace lo que se supone tiene que hacer y, si uno es cuidadoso, es un producto que parece que durará un buen tiempo.

Love it for my uncle who uses it for all shoes putting sessions. Also with his old age being agile is not is forte. So this serves his purpose and appreciates it very much as a gift.

Nope!
This definitely does NOT do the job. It's cheaply made, and it is wide enough only to squeeze a toddlers foot into a boot.
