This Hood Does It All But Still Needs A Little Fine Tuning!
I love this hood! The decals are just a work of art! Freaking Beautiful! The shell comes apart in 2 pieces. That helps for cleaning and squeezing it through tight spots. The lenses that come with the hood last about a week, and sometimes two, as long as I'm not rough with them. The headgear is super comfortable, and the hood is light. My neck never hurts, and the hood also covers the front of my neck very well, unlike the old pipeliner. I've never had a flash burn on my neck. This hood is great for all of the welding processes. I often MIG, TIG, and stick weld with this hood. It does it all very nicely! I think what I like the most about this hood is that I DON'T have to mess with batteries. This is my second WH-40, and the batteries were never a problem. They lasted the whole life of my last hood. No on/off switch is sweet too, just put the hood on and start welding. The lenses are really easy to change. The shade dial goes from 9-13, but what is really amazing is that the dial turns about a half shade past an 9 and a half shade past 13. That makes it go from a shade of 8.5 to a shade 13.5. I really love this hood! I can grind (as long as I don't throw the sparks right at the sensors) if I turn the sensitivity all the way down. I have also used the torch at a shade of 8.5 with the sensitivity all the way down. It's a little dark but it will get the job done! I also put a piece of tape over the sensors and that worked for the cutting torch. I would like to see them design a grind button on the outside of the hood to knock the sensors out of the circuit. I would then be able to set it to grind without taking my gloves off. I would also like to see them design a torch mode button on the outside of the hood also. Maybe when you push it, it would make the lense turn to a shade 5 with no sensors. This hood could use 2 more sensors for a total of 4. All eletronics hoods should have 2 sensors above the lense and 2 sensors below the lense. That covers you if your looking over something, and looking under something. I would like to see them put a sensor in all four corners! I've been a field Boilermaker out of local 363, for 18 years, and I have been welding for 25 years. I really want to see these hood companies to go back to standard clear lenses. When any of the field construction workers (iron wprkers, pipefitters, boilermakers, sheet metal workers, or any one of the countless number of tradesmen) go to a job, they can get standard sizes of clear lense out of the tool room.......at no charge to the working hand. The company that we are working for does buy the standard sizes for us, so when these hood companies engineer a hood that takes special clear lenses, your only selling your hoods to half of the tradesmen. The other half of tradesmen wear the hoods that take standard clear lenses so they do not have to worry about carrying them with them. They know there will always be a replacement clear lense at the tool room. I know companies like their add-ons, but I would like to see jackson engineer their electronic hoods with standard 4x6 clear lenses. They will sell twice as many hoods (if not more) to the tradesmen.

Great visibility and adjustability!
Wonderful gift from my husband!! He is a welder, and is teaching me. As a female with a strangely-shaped head (idk how it happened - think my mom sat on me during birth), I appreciate the multiple ways to adjust the headgear. Very responsive, adjustable auto-darkening feature. I can see everything so much better than the Hobart model I used at first, even with glare inside the helmet from lights overhead. Love it!!!

Recommend to everyone
Best welding helmet I’ve ever had. Adjustable darkening settings.

Great Helmet
I purchased this while at welding school for the military. I loved it. The dials are inside the helm so they don't get damaged. The only thing I had problems with was the helmet wouldn't stay tight to the harness so it would sometimes fall back down while I was looking at my weld. But that's just minor.

Jackson Safety WH40 Helmet
I absolutely love this helmet. It is light-weight, auto-darkening, and easy to adjust to fit my female head! Only negative....I couldn't see what the "flame-dancer" image was until I got the helmet. Rather embarrassing....it's a naked woman! But a few well-placed stickers and no-one in my welding class knows! It is really a good helmet for my needs.

Jackson welding helmet
I like this helmet a lot & I am not an everyday welder. No batteries to change and fits my head really good. I would recommend this helmet to anyone & it is the only one I could find made in the USA.

Amazing
Purchasing online can be scary to say the least. Proper fit, return policy, waiting... With this product I was happy from the moment it arrived. It has far exceeded all of the expectations I had for it (and there were a lot).

Great purchase
Great helmet. Usable with various hard hat adapter equipment. Great factory headgear as well. Selectable shade dials. One dial is shades 9-13 and the other is a sensitivity dial. No grind mode setting. I work as an instructor at a train building facility, a very heavy industrial setting. This helmet can withstand the environment. It fits a 3m style respirator with the puck style filters, but fits better with the pancake style. I've used this helmet quite a bit and the decals are still intact as well. Works with SMAW, GMAW , GTAW, Arc Gouging, Flame welding and Automatic welding systems.
