A little thin but still nice
This is much better than using the gym’s mat, but it is thinner. I like that the one side never touches the floor, and to keep it that way but make it more comfortable for my hips and back, I fold it in the center so that I have triple the thickness. It’s only in the center, but that’s all I need for comfort. It still keeps the upside from touching the ground. It’s lightweight and easy to fold. I got the lavender and love it, and I like the carrying bag. I can throw my towel in there.

Good mat, and good customer service
UPDATE - Jan 2014 Mat is still wonderful - Especially love that it folds up with the side that was one the floor never touching the front side! I had originally purchased this mat in the summer of 2012 for a trip. The original bag that came with it broke. Khataland offered to replace the original bag with the new "Eco-Friendly" mesh bag. The new bag is great. It fits the mat snugly (took me a minute to get it in and out the first time, but now it's easy to move). I like the nice handle - makes it easy to carry around and carry to class. I also like that it's mesh, so air can come in and out (especially after sweating!). I also use the mat in the bag as a nice meditation perch. Just high enough and wide enough that it's almost like a small meditation bench. Thanks again to the company for wonderful customer service! OLD REVIEW: I would give the mat 5 stars and the bag 1 star if I good. The bag was cheap plastic. Because the mat would catch on the plastic, the bag broke the first time I tried to put the mat back in it. The mat, however, is quality. I took it for a summer spent overseas, and it packed neatly into a square space. In retrospect, I wish I had gotten the smaller version, because suitcase real estate is precious for overseas flights! However, I like the mat. It has good grip for my yoga poses. Additionally, I will use it when it is folded as a meditation seat - it's comfortable to sit on for long periods of time, and just the right height for meditation.

I LIKE IT
Ok--here's the thing. In theory, I LOVE this mat. But In reality, I only LIKE it. Does that make sense? After doing an intense class, my brain is never prepared to refold this thing properly so that is sits rights in the folds. So I end up folding it the best way I can. And it works. I can fit it folded into my yoga bag no problem. But aside from the first week I had it (and took a ridiculous amount of time to figure out how to fold it back), it has never been refolded "properly". I'm sure it's easy for those with very sharp spatial and mechanical intelligence. But that's just not me. I use it almost exclusively now and I love the length and ease of transport. So, I'm a fan.

Love the mat, but it doesn't hold up well to daily use
I loved this mat while it lasted. Folds up nicely, the "floor side" is always easy to track, grips my hands and feet well during sweaty Ashtanga classes, fits into my bike pannier, travels well on flights in my carry-on, and this particular model is nice and thick for these aging bones. My favorite yoga mat ever, by far. The only problem is that this mat doesn't last. Little blue bits of foam started coming off the mat just a couple months in, and now when I fold the mat up my practice area is littered with little blue foam chips. Kind of not cool, and I'm ready to change mats after less than a year of use. I contacted Khataland about this, and they emphasized in response that this is really a travel mat. I don't think that's at all clear from the description of the mat here or on the Khataland website, so buyer beware: this is a travel mat. Khataland recommended the YoFoMat Pro for a more durable, everyday practice, and I'm ordering that today. I'm not thrilled that I have to replace my mat after nine months, and unfortunately the Pro version is thinner than this model, so we'll see how it feels during headstands . . . . But I love the mat enough that I'm willing to give the Pro a try, and to hang onto this first model as a travel mat. Not enough for five stars, though, in view of its poor durability.

Perfect for what I need
This yoga mat is perfect for what I needed it for. At my location it doesn't matter how much you dust and sweep and mop, you can't keep up with the dirt and the sand. Having the foldable mat is great because I don't have to worry about the two sides touching each other. I have one perfectly clean side to lay on without getting dirty and one side that will always touch the floor. Someone commented about the bag being too tight for the mat. I don't have that issue at all but I also don't feel the need to put additional items in the bag. If you want to put other items inside with the mat, you are able to, just not big bulky things. For the thickness of the mat, I think it "ultra thick" is the wrong phrase. I don't know a lot about yoga mats but it seems to be of average thickness. But even with that one downfall, it's still a wonderful yoga mat and being that it's foldable, it seems to tuck away more easily than the roll up mats. I highly recommend it. :)

What a fantastic product! It folds neatly and very easily
Yoga mat was always, always a problem for me when I travelled. I used to order one prior to arrival and then discard when leaving - I don't have this problem anymore! What a fantastic product! It folds neatly and very easily, no strange smell, not heavy, just as the size of a coffee table book, you can definitely pack it in your suitcase no problem. As for the "ultra thick" part, it's only ultra thick compared to other folding travel mat in the market, I would say you would need this thickness if you do any stretching on your spine, it is good. Non slippery. I am thinking of ordering the pro version to use it at home, you don't have the problem of mat curling up after unrolling it. In conclusion, if you want to take your own yoga mat with you when you are traveling, this is the one to buy!
