Universal Gun Mount for 4 Wheeler

The mount is nice, but doesn't fit the Can Am Outlander rack well. Had to adjust to secure the U-bolts. The boot holder is adjustable which is nice. I mounted my boot to the inside of the mount for better sturdiness. So far, so good.

Great item for an atv

This would be perfect if there was an extension adaptor to add to the unit base. The only issue I have is it makes it difficult to use a rear gear box or bag on my atv with this attached. An extension would solve the issue (even just 2 inches). That being said, I use a gear bag with the boottector, but accessing the pocket on the boot side is cumbersome. This is my second one, and I trust the strength and durability. I trust my firearms in it.

You'll be very happy.

Holds the gun boot 6.0, BUT!!! does shake somewhat when traveling on uneven surfaces. I have mine attached to my Honda Rincon 680. I was thinking about making some brackets that will attach to the gun boot and anchor it to my fender, to make it more stable and less noisy. One of my hunting buddies has a Kolpin gun boot 6.0 with a different Kolpin bracket (his has a metal loop) ... and his seems to be way more steady with less shaking and noise. I think Kolpin needs to go back to the drawing board w/ this one. Sorry Kolpin. Never had my gun or gun boot come loose or any other issues other than the shaking though. Only 3 stars on this one. Get the Kolpin w/ the loop bracket instead. You'll be very happy.

does the job of holding a gun boot

nice that it fits multi Kolpin gun boot models. a bit pricey for what it is. a removable base would be nice so an ATV cover would fit over ATV better for snow, rain, frost and cold situations. not easily removeable as it came so with non hunting ATV use it gets in the way.

Ready for action!

It took me about a half hour to locate where I wanted it positioned then it went together in minutes. I think its installed backwards from original intent but I want the narrowest trail width and I would rather have this mount get hit with a tree trunk than have my gun or chainsaw get damaged. All good for now...time to hit the trails and see how it functions.

Chainsaw use - broke 5 minutes in the first ride

Installs quickly and easily. The chainsaw case slides and fits well within the mount, secured by two pins. The base attached to the ATV is very sturdy, made of thick steel plates. This part of the system is well thought out and sturdily designed. Unfortunately, the sleeve that holds the chainsaw case is unable to handle the stresses generated the ATV is in motion. It is extremely weak. I do not have a big heavy chainsaw. I drove slowly over a 6" log and the chainsaw, case and sleeve fell to the ground, the mount broken at the root of the bracket attaching the sleeve to the base (see photo). It is an extremely weak point in a system which seems over designed at the base but severely under designed at the plastic sleeve. This cannot be recommended for anything moderately heavy, i.e. a chainsaw, or a rifle ... so one wonders what can it be used for ...

Previous design that I also have one of on my other ATV is better, the vertical portion of the mounting bracket is shorter making the whole assembly more low profile and less likely to get caught up in the willows etc. Other than that it is a well made and serves the purpose.

Nice set up when done

I had put a solid wider base plate down to ensure it wouldnt move while driving. Maybe just me but gun too exspensive to take any chances
