By far , the best cone of shame out there

By far, this is the best cone of shame out there. When my big dog was neutered, it was over three weeks before the stitches could come out because we couldn't keep his mouth off of them. In that time he went through FIVE e-collars.The first, a 3M, he broke it all to crap. The second, one of the inflatables, child's play for him, licked his stitches at will. The third, another plastic cone that he quickly figured out how to ram into things till it scooted down far enough to lick at will. The fourth was one of these, the KVP EZ Clear, and it almost lasted until the stitches came out. But then it finally got a crack or two in it and I replaced it with another just like it. Very sturdy, my dog couldn't scoot this one down, and it's deep enough that a giraffe necked dog will still have trouble getting to those stitches.

There are better ones out there

We tried a few different cones for our dog; we wanted to be sure to have something on hand that worked for him after his surgery. We were not crazy about this one. Here's why: *it was not long enough for our sheltie / shetland sheepdog; this is a breed with a longer snout, but our guy's snout is not unusually long at all *we thought it might be helpful for it to be see-through; it wasn't really see-through; the stripes were weird and disorienting *it was not easy to get a good fit *the one we really liked was the All Four Paws Comfy Cone Pet Collar I hope you have found this review helpful :)

Size is perfect for my bulldog’s 21 inch neck BUT he hates the velcro noise it makes every time we take it off.

Works great on long-necked, long-legged breeds.

This works much better than the traditional collar. I won't say I (or my dog) actutally LIKE any of them, but this one was easier for me to attach and easier for the dog to deal with. I have a long-necked, long-legged breed ( a Welch terrier) with a head that's not much wider than his neck, so the make-at- home horsecollar styles just didn't work. This kept him from licking his wounded paw, which is what we both needed. I'm saving it for the next paw-related injury.

Wrong product sent twice

I have ordered this collar twice now- in the largest size possible at 16" to 21" neck - for my black lab who licks at her feet constantly. Both times I have received the wrong size collar. It clearly says 6"-9.5" and it's the right size for a kitten. It also is a snap collar, not velcro. I wouldn't mind the snaps if the collar was the correct size. I have to send two boxes back now. Someone needs to go through the inventory at their warehouse and correct this!

The best of the cones I checked out

The best of the cones I checked out. Doesn't require a collar or tie around the neck. It's got multiple pieces of Velcro so you can size it precisely. Very happy with it and it didn't bother the dog that much.

It is nice for our dog to be able to see through the color. The velcro is strong, he hasn't been able to open it, even when going through dog door.
