A simple fix
I needed something to fill in a gap prior to painting and caulking and this was ideal for that area. I can see using this product for any number of things.

Unconventional use to rejuvenate an old window seal for 2012 Ford Escape. Worked Great!
I have a 2012 Ford Escape, and if you are familiar with the pre-2013 models, one of the more significant design flaws is the rear window seal. For whatever reason, Ford decided it was a good idea to just seal the rear window glass by pushing it against a hollow rubber seal. As you can imagine, over time, the seal deforms and loses its ability to maintain a good seal. The result? Water leaks on the inside of the window, runs down behind the liftgate, and eventually starts to rust out the bottom of the liftgate. This started happening to my Escape, and before it became a major problem, I wanted to fix it. A new seal runs around $300 these days. I really didn't want to drop that amount of money, so I sought a cheaper alternative. I found a suggestion to insert foam "rope" inside the gasket, and I figured I'd give it a try. I came across this product, and for $5, I figured it was worth a shot. So...did it work, you ask? Well, after slicing the gasket in a few places and trying to push it in, it was obvious that I was going to get as far as you would expect anyone would trying to push a rope, and a foam one at that....not too far! However...having a son who is an IT geek that likes to snake wires through walls using fiberglass rods, I was able to run the rod though the gasket, tape it to the rod, and with a little soapy water, pull it through the gasket. The foam this is made of is soft enough to compress, but firm enough to make a seal on the glass, so it looks like the end result was worth the effort. I'll be keeping an eye on the situation, but for the remaining life of the Escape, I think the issue is solved, and hopefully, the liftgate is protected from water infiltrating anymore. Not your conventional use of the product, but definitely worth a 5 star rating in my book!

Seals cracks, openings & voids
Excellent for sealing around windows or other spaces and voids. It is compressible for pressing in to tight spaces.

Cheap and works
Using this for the gap between laminate flooring and the wall. Works well. Only complaint is it apparently tastes good to cats.

Great to fill Concrete Expansion Joints!
So I've been looking around for a way to fix my concrete driveway. Unfortunately the concrete expansion joints have separated and have made a pretty big gap. After much research I found that I should use a backer rod to lay in the expansion joints and than use a self leveling chalk to seal it in. This will prevent any additional water from eroding the base material under the concrete. I needed a couple different sizes as the width of the expansion joints was different as you went up the length of the driveway. I found what I needed. The M-D Building Products Backer Rod. I bought both a 1/4 and 1/2 sizes. I like to tell people about my shopping experiences in this case I'll cut and paste this same review for both the 1/4 and 1/2 sizes I received (no big differences in these). Both the 1/4 and 1/2 inch arrived on time. They were packaged very well. Super light as you can imagine. The backer rod is like a foam material. It fit well into the expansion joints. A nice snug fit. This is exactly what I was looking for. Otherwise with as wide and deep as these expansion joints have gotten it would have taken a lot of self leveling chalk to fill them in. The material cut really easy. I use my utility knife but an ordinary pair of scissors would have worked just fine. I was happy with the quality. I felt confident when install it in the expansion joints that it would hold up just fine and do the job.

Exactly what I was expecting
Perfect. I had to trim it a little to make it fit between the bathroom sink and wall but I worked as expected.

Good multi-use product
Can be used for a variety of things. I use it to fill concrete cracks before adding caulk and in combination with hollow-rubber weatherstripping to close off uneven surfaces for better insulation.
