Easy to use but harder to get intact olive

Works best on stiff olives but crushes softer ones. Precutting around pit seems to help clean removal of pit in all cases

Should've bought this years ago! Good quality, very easy to use, comfortable grip. Cherries purchased more often because they are so fast to prepare plus there's virtually no waste- have seen others leave too much fruit on the pit - also cherry still looks very well shaped if needed to still appear whole for decorative purpose. Has space saving storage position.

great for cherries

I used this to pit several quarts of cherries this summer, both sweet cherries and sour cherries. sweet cherries are larger and firmer than sour cherries. this did a good job on both. best cherry pitter I've tried so far. good value for the money.

Works but messy

It works, but also spits juice everywhere. Messy when we're talking about olives. Disastrous when we're talking about cherries! their engineers need to go back to the drawing board.

Worked pretty well until it came apart 20 minutes into using it

I bought this yesterday at a local kitchen store. It worked pretty well for about 20 minutes – pushing the pits out 80% of the time, which from my experience with other cherry pitters is a little better than average. Got through 1.5 lbs. of cherries when the little metal "lock" button on the handle fell out. I put it back in and it continued working but I'll be returning it since I don't trust it not to come apart again. (btw, the lock button is not identified, either on the device or on the package; you have to figure this out for yourself.)
