Very BEEFY for the price! A must have for outdoor storage!

I recently purchased this "covered latch" due to an attempted break in in my garage. I have, or had, a typical slide latch (like this one but thinner and no cover) that some fetty head tried cutting (as well as the Master Lock) without success. He/ she did get quite far tho and aaaallllmost cut through the latch hole but I guess they gave up. The Master Lock #6 (12mm shank or whatever its called) held up great with very minor cuts in the "U" latch part. I dunno why i can't remember the name of it but anyways I upgraded to this and compared to old latch its MUCH thicker! Remember to buy or use a back plate if you're attaching this to a thin walled garage door or similar. Over all I have 100% faith this will hold up because it's impossible to open while locked and covers the lock (regular length) like 98% but what it covers is 100% the part that they try to cut. Im very satisfied with intial testing and am waiting for metal plates arriving today to actually install. If anything changes ill update but as of now it's 5 stars

VERY heavy duty and well made, it conceals the lock shackle so it cant be cut. Easy install. The only thing I might do differently, is to ditch the one-way screws for the loop that the shank slides in to, and use 2 bolts instead, that ALSO go thru the door like the ones for the hasp. The photos in the listing don't really do it justice. It's much beefier than they make it look. All in all, a well made product!

Beastly lock set

This lock set is beastly. Super easy to install. Very heavy duty. Should give would-be thieves a really tough time.

I have used these Barrel bolt sets over many years ...

I have used these Barrel bolt sets over many years and have NEVER had someone cut one of our locks and believe me we have used them in some really high crime areas. I would suggest you bolt the lock plates through the door instead of using screws. Absolutely bullet proof if mounted correctly.

My Garage Is Very Safe Now!

Works great with a SOBO SPPO Padlock. I had to buy two 5/16" carriage bolts and some washers and nuts, the one's that come with this are 1/4" and do not look very strong at all and do not work right. The Nu-Set is very very strong and works great. And it is protecting my garage very well.

These are heavy duty, burglar gave up after not being able to bend it enough to get lock off! Highly recommend!
