Not metal
Maybe I didn’t read the description well, but I was under the impression this was a metal scoop. It is definitely not metal, but it seems to be fairly sturdy, hard plastic. It scoops well in the corners, so im fairly satisfied.

Good for litters that pancake
I first purchased a scoop/holder/hand broom/pan combo. That litter sifter/scoop was okay, but I had to basically move all the litter from one side to the other in order to thoroughly clean the box. It also broke up litter (urine) that was pancaked at the bottom, so that the broken pieces were too small to be caught by the scoop. That caused the litter box to smell more often than I'd like. That scoop also had holes that were too small for my (wheat) litter. Finally, the handle broke off, and that was that. I ran out and replaced it with a unit from Petsmart. The new scoop had a rounded edge. It was terrible for scraping the bottom of the box. It was more expensive than this scoop. It's probably fine for litter that immediately clumps (like Arm and Hammer), but not so great for litter that's a little slower to respond. I used that scoop twice and was like "this is terrible, I need to try another kind of scoop." It couldn't pick up most of the urine litter at the bottom. (Sorry kitties - i'm sure that was a lot of bad odor for you.) Then I tried this scoop. It's PERFECT for wheat litter. The holes are a little bigger than the first scoop, so I can sift a LOT faster. It doesn't break up the pancakes at the bottom of the box, it covers a wider area than the first scoop, and it has holes in the sides. This allows me to insert the scoop, lift up and hold, dump remains into a bag, and move forward, lift up and hold, etc., - until the litter box is cleaned out. I don't have to make a separate pile of litter in another part of the box anymore. (The first scoop couldn't handle more than ~2" of litter, otherwise it would just jam up and the litter wouldn't fall through.) Finally, this scoop is nice and sturdy, with a handle that's not too long. If it broke, I would happily buy another one. :) My time dealing with the litter box is HALF that of the first scoop, and it picks up more (pancakes) than both scoops.

EH NOT THRILLED
The product does what it's supposed to and it does work. My issue is you have to shake it so much just to get to the point. Understand? The last one i had, i would give a little shake, the unused litter would fall back into the box and the scoop had everything it was supposed to have. This one I have to shake shake shake shake shake for the clean litter to be released. Such a silly thing to be bothered by but had I not experienced the previous one I wouldn't even know to complain about this one. I accidently threw the other one in the garbage and now here we are.

Slots too wide..
The description of this scoop that is gets to the bottom of the litter box and corners is spot on, however, the slots in the scoop are too wide to pick up the smaller clumps. It would be perfect if the slots were closer together.

Great idea, poor construction
PetFusion's litter scoop is awesome - it's so much easier to push through the litter (I have arthritis in my hands/wrists so this is important) and their non-stick litter pan is also awesome Unfortunately, the scoop holder is not so great and here's why: You're supposed to be able to remove the cap-piece so you can take out and clean the rubber insert, then put it all back together. Well, before even using it, I removed the cap piece - you know making sure I knew how it all worked - and now the cap piece WILL NOT go back on. It is literally impossible to get it to go back on and stay in place. So, okay, maybe I can still use it without the cap piece on it? Well, sort of - the scoop goes in so snuggly (good for cleaning off litter from scoop) that it pushes down the rubber insert and tries to pull it out of the container when you pull the scoop back out to use it. The cap piece is what would keep the insert in place during use. I can't imagine what will happen when I actually have to remove the rubber insert to clean it and put it back in. They should have constructed this like a toaster - with a tray trap in the bottom you could slide out to empty. Then the rubber insert could have been glued in place or the cap-piece could have been made to not be removed. If you needed to clean the rubber bristles, you could then just remove the trap-tray and flush with soap and water. Will I still use it anyway? Yes, but it will make me a little frustrated each time and there's a good chance I'll stop using it if the insert isn't easy to put back in after cleaning it the first time.

Had to buy the scooper to go with PetFusion Box
Awhile ago I bought the PetFusion litter box and I love it (as much as you can live a litter box). The biggest factor I like about the litter box is... Nothing sticks to it, I use clumping litter, my past litter boxes would get scratched up by my cat and the scooper which made it difficult to keep clean. The box looks new after months of use (my cats 18 pounds) When I saw the same company made a scooper I had to get it, even though I just bought a new scooper a couple weeks ago I figured I could always have an extra Twenty bucks is a lot for a scooper, but I looked back 6 months in my reviews and I've spent that on a combination of various scoopers. Never mind grabbing them at the store here and there. I figured if this scooper is coated like the cat box it'd be worth it. So far so good. It's been a few weeks, no residue has been building up on the scooper. It comes with a little platform you can put in your wall to hang the scooper up. I like the fact this is much bigger than your average scooper. It is sturdy and doesn't bend at all when using (my 18 pound cat leaves big prizes in the box) Small pieces will fall through the center, I have found if your doing a final sweep of the litter box to get the small pieces, lean towards the corners of the scoop and sift this way. I've managed to get the small pieces up doing this. I think that's all I can say about a pooper scooper. I'm good about updating my reviews if issues arise or to just say I still love a product I will keep my eye on this company for anything else they may release. I'm happy with my two purchases from them so far.

Not inexpensive, but well worth the price
This really really works well and it is quite a good size. I hang it on the disposal they offer and together they work a charm. Ever since inheriting our daughters cats I have really wanted to sort this out, but thought it was. Then I found this and the disposal and things are better now, which is all I wanted.

Very sturdy unlike the competition
This is a very sturdy scoop unlike many I have had in the past that are flimsy and break easily. It is expensive but has already lasted longer than some others I have purchased in the past and seems like it will last for years so is well worth the extra money.

Not suitable for use with cat litter
Unfortunately, while this is extremely well made, the holes are way too big for cat litter. I buy the best litter on the market which doesn’t clump so I can’t pick up wee with this, only no 2’s. This means I have to use my old one with smaller holes. For the price, I am very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.

Sturdy and large.
Sturdy scoop. Not entirely sure how long it will last so have it as a backup to a metal one I found. However, it is definitely the best non-metal one I've ever found. I have weak wrists & find it is best to hold it nearer the scoop rather than in the handle itself for leverage against heavy clumping litter.
