This is the correct answer for the price range

Used this after the dread southern ice storm. Was surprised how much better this worked than the equivalent priced options. Even my helpers using it were commenting on how nice it was, and I'd assume they've done a bit of this lately.

So far so good

I like how they extend, and they do cut fairly easily. I am concerned about the durability of the handles. When I add pressure to cut a stubborn branch, I feel concern that the handle will break before the branch does. I don't know that it would, but they are so light weight that it seems they might.

Very Sharp and great tool

I had hoped to get an adjustable and RATCHETING Loper. This advertises that it is all of the above. I like the loper and have enjoyed all aspects with the exception of the ratchet function. I have yet to get it to ratchet even one notch. Ha. I may have to call the factory. The ractchet mechanism appears to be there but on all my other ratcheting devices it simply senses the thickness factor and begins to ratchet on its own. This not so much. Never senses a thing. I love the extending handles and every other aspect of it but just no ratchet.

Finally a tool as hard headed as I am. I've only had Fiskers, and now I know how hard I had been working. The one branch was 2 1/4 inches and I had to take a second cut due to tight space. These open wider than other loppers I've used, and cut more easily than any I've ever used, and have that extension which makes it cut with even less effort, and gives better reach. The aluminum body is nice, and the extension has 6 stops for different length handles. Seriously, don't buy Fiskers, buy these!

Non-Ratcheting and Clueless in Atlanta

This review is for the telescoping ratcheting 40-in bypass steelhead lopper. As a basic lopper with telescoping handles, it's function is fine. The ratcheting function, however, remains a complete mystery. I attempted to call the customer service telephone number that is supposedly USA based out of Atlanta, that's listed in the Amazon description posted, and they know absolutely nothing about their product and told me I would have to contact Amazon to find out how the ratcheting component works, which is hilarious. I would spend a few dollars more and get one that actually ratchets if that's the mechanism you're looking for.

Adjustable handles allows you to read higher. Time will tell for durability.

Works very well

Seems well built and works very well. My wife likes it as well. Not sure about the gear adjustment. No instructions were provided.
