Delicious and simple
Well, it's my first ever rice cooker, so I can't say I'm an expert on the subject. But, I have heard a lot of issues people have with rice cookers is that it burns on the bottom or it doesn't cook right; I can say with certainty this rice cooks to perfection. It has nice little instructions on how to correctly/adequately wash the rice and comes with a neat little spoon/spatula thing I can't remember the name of at this moment, which makes fluffing the rice and mixing it when making sweet/sushi rice so much easier. Love the little markings on the inside so I don't have to measure anything but the rice itself. Highly recommend getting this for quick, simple, and absolutely amazing tasting rice, but it is a little pricy and worth it to me.

Love it and wish I bought it sooner.
I was debating about buying a rice cooker for many years. I have made rice in instant pot and microwave for many years. I give away my rice cooker (take up too much room). I finally decided to buy a new rice cooker. After some research, I decided on Zojirushi brand but not sure which model. Finally bought this model because it was on sale. Zojirushi rice cooker is expensive and hard for me to justify buying it. Long story short, it produces best rice I ever made. Beats National Rice cooker I had, Instant Pot and Breville microwave. The best part is it make brown rice so soft and no one complains about eating brown rice anymore. You can make sweet rice without soaking. Now I wish I bought a model up. Also wish I can find recipes to make Japanese cake and non rice dishes in it (my old rice cooker you can cook a meal in them).

I purchased this rice cooker 13 months ago. I've used it about 30 times. After the first couple of uses I noticed the coating on the inner pot was bubbling and lifting off. It appears I'm not the only one with this issue as another reviewer has also uploaded pictures of the same issue and I have also confirmed this as an issue with their pots in other model rice cookers as well. The warranty does not cover any mechanical features of their products, such as the inner pot, how convenient. The warranty is only 1 year regardless, which is sad on such an expensive rice cooker. I reached out asking if they could provide a replacement, and as a courtesy of their defective coating/manufacturing process, they would so gracefully extend me a one time replacement at $16 plus tax and shipping/handling. They could not guarantee it wouldn't happen again. A full price replacement pot is nearly $60, plus shipping and handling. I'm sad to know Zojirushi isn't what they used to be. I regret not digging deeper into the warranty and looking into common issues before making this purchase. Time to look into South Korean rice cookers. I don't know how this company is still talked so highly about. This is not buy it for life quality.

Made in Japan rice cooker
Wanted to get a good rice cooker but my GF insisted that it was made in Japan. Upon researching various rice cookers not that many sold in the US are made in Japan- even most Zojieushi aren’t. Anyhow it’s a good machine but 1) takes an hour to cook rice ( speed setting takes 40 minutes ) & 2) it is expensive. Unless you really are a rice purist I doubt you need to spend $300 + on a rice cooker but if you do then this is a good one because of gaba brown rice setting along with other nice features.

Worth the extra money
I’ve owned many rice cookers, most were the inexpensive magnetic style with one setting. Inherited a Sanyo with lots of settings, but it had some miles on it. This rice cooker is amazing, everything works perfectly and the results have been really good. Made congee for the first time, jasmine and tons of gohan already and it’s perfect as long as I follow the directions.

Highly recommend. The rice cooks way better than the cheap Walmart rice maker. Nothing sticks to the bottom. You can also stream just about anything in it.

Add extra stuff like oil and spices!
I'm not super happy that the pot is relatively delicate, but it's been a simple matter to dry out the top stuff and wipe the pot clean with a soapy sponge, so the water beads. The rice is great though, for sticky you can use water, for loose, I put in chicken broth, oil, and whatever spices I feel like that day. I've taken to washing with a silicone whisk as I don't care for cold fingers.

This thing is fantastic
Since I own an Instant Pot, I was really on the fence about getting a rice cooker... But I honestly don't regret it at all. This thing is amazing. I saw a few people complain about the cook time but that's just silly. The Quick setting is around 30 min and the Normal and Umami settings are around an hour. You just adapt to the cook time. I usually start rice before I start cooking and it'll be ready by the time I'm done. It's also great at keeping the rice nice and warm for HOURS so just start it sooner and stop moaning. I went for this more expensive model because the cheaper models are not Made in Japan, often too small and have less features. I really like the Umami setting, I think it makes a big difference! Although to be quite frank, I rarely make more than 2-3 cups of rice. I eat rice so much more often now. It always comes out perfect and it cooks while I'm doing other stuff. If it's too expensive, consider looking at the other Zoijirushi rice cookers. I'm sure they're great too.

Best inner pot rice cooker with plenty of features
After going through many rice cockers over the years, mainly due to peeling of the inner pot, I found this perfect rice cocker. Needless to say, the inner pot is very high quality and slippery - very easy to clean - has been using it for 1 year and it's still as smooth as day 1. Feature wise, since day 1 when we bought it, we have been having using it for cooking different grains: Jasmine, Calrose, sushi, brown, mixed rice; congee; steaming; and even cereal. It handles it with perfection. One small feature request would be to have one more timed cooking slot (only 2 right now), I sometimes have to cook rice morning, afternoon and at night. All-in-all, this is the end-game rice cooker.
