Great for cooking instant grits
I prefer a bowl of grits to a bowl of oatmeal, and I was having trouble cooking them in the microwave without it boiling over. This pot is a miracle. It cooks the grits easily and with no mess. Super easy cleanup, too.

It works
Cooked my medium grain rice perfectly , took some trial and error 1 cup rice to 1 3/4 cup water for 14 minutes. Came out perfect. I don’t know my microwave watt

When done right it's brilliant, but never done right.
The cookbook is set for a specific wattage and a lot of the grain to water ratio is on the box, prepare to lose both and spend weeks trying to figure out how to reduce the power of your microwave to match their wattage and guess the water because you will never find these instructions online. Crunchy dry rice, soggy watery rice barf, it does it all. Except, you know... RICE. Right as you're about to give up your finally find the golden ratio. For extra long grain rice. It's different with other varieties and you've long since given up. I've attached what I found, don't add that much water unless you like straining it off.

NO Muss, No Fuss
This is my second one of this type of microwave cooking accessories and I couldn't be more pleased. I am still utilizing my first one, but years of military training taught me that having a back is always a good as well as an intelligent strategy. I encourage people to try this microwave cooking pan. I am single and this was right up my alley for a single or double serving of rice. Just place the normal ratio of rice and water in the cooker (a norm of 2:1 (2 cups water to 1 cup of rice)), put on the lid (which serves as a strainer when straining the rice once cooked), cook in microwave for recommended time, and Viola, your rice is ready for you. No mess inside the microwave and clean up is quick and easy.

I like it
I used this to cook a cup of rice. I decided to try it because I didn't like the way my other microwave rice cooker always overflowed and made a mess in the microwave. This does not make a mess and I could remove it from the microwave using my bare hands. I followed the directions in the instruction book, and my rice turned out on the wet side...next time I'll try adjusting the water. Make sure to adjust the power level of your microwave if it is more than the 800w noted in the instructions. It was also very easy to clean.

Exceptionally useful
This is my second one - I'm still using the first one, just needed another. Always useful for pasta, rice and other stuff. I definitely did need to develop cook times for my materials. Never been a problem to use and easy to clean.

My favorite gadget!
I've had the previous version of this for years and I use it all the time. I recently decided to get another one but I couldn't find the older version. A bad review scared me off from the new one for several months, but when I still couldn't find the older one, I decided to give this a try... I'm so glad I did! It's basically exactly the same! It works perfectly for me for rice, grits and oatmeal. It's so easy and cleans up in a snap (simply wash it immediately or soak it until you get time to wash it). No one in my family can cook rice correctly, so I got one for several family members and they love them, too.

Great cooker, terrible recipe
It works very well using the recipe I used with my old microwave rice cooker, but the recipe for cooking rice is, frankly ridiculous. One cup of rice to five of water? I'm cooking rice, not growing rice in a rice paddy. And it's for a modest 800W microwave, too. Mine is a bit more powerful than that and there would have been no way all that water would have evaporated in 13 minutes, and it's far, far too much water to be absorbed. It sounds like a recipe written by someone who never cooked rice before. But stick to the old recipe of about a half-inch or so water above the rice, 7 min, stir, then 7 min, and you'll be fine (adjust as necessary). Recipes aside, the doubled wall makes it a lot easier to handle without oven mitts, and the cover does excellently at managing the steam and keeping liquid from messing up the microwave at the end, so kudos to the design.

Fluffy rice with zero effort
I like the idea of rice cookers but wasn't sure I wanted to fork out for an electrical appliance that might end up sitting at the back of the cupboard. As it turns out, this microwave rice cooker does exactly what I want. I like being able to pop it in the microwave and leave it to do its own thing. It doubles as a serving container if you want, and is easy to clean.

Useful rice cooker for two
This will get a lot of use. Water measurements in cups are wrong in places. Use the fluid ounce or metric measurements instead. E.g. 10 fl oz = 1 1/4 cups (not 2 1/2). Small grains slip through collander. Dishwasher safe but the bowl part is best and easily washed by hand (fills with water either way up). Very useful.

Great product with great results
Bought this to replace our old microwave rice cooker which is falling apart. Was a bit sceptical about the new design, but actually it cooks rice perfectly & is a lit more subtle than the bright red one we had before!

Quinoa and Couscous cooked perfectly!
Easy to use and makes me look like a good cook. I made rice, quinoa and israeli couscous, all came out perfect
