Pontoon tube pulling rope does well around the outboard

I needed a Y tie rope to add to my pontoon for pulling tubes. I have an 8 ft beam and this rope does well getting around my outboard. A nice feature is there is a loop by each clip so if the clip is too big for your eye bolt then the loop can be threaded and the clip can attach to the loop. Either way it's a secure attachment

Clips corrode over time

Bought in 2018. Went to use it today and the clips had rusted so badly they basically disintegrated as I clipped them. Works well so ordering another but definitely not designed to be used in salt water.

Too small for tritoon

Too small for my regency tritoon worth mercury 200hp. Ropes are too close to engine and prop for comfort or safety.

I purchased this product based on the product name and it's reviews. I like that it was yellow and should be easy to see in the water as well as should float keeping it away from the prop and work for towing a two person tube. I was concerned the snap hooks would not be large enough to clamp onto my transom based on the reviews and I was correct. The hooks only open 3/8 of an inch. In looking for an alternate option I was not able to find anything that fit the requirement and need and my preference. I will most likely find two Stainless Steel Snap Hook Carabiner hooks (make sure your working load rating is large enough for one, two or three people), then cut off the old snap hooks and replace with the new ones. I have included photos of the hook that comes on the tow harness and the transom eye that it will not fit. Update 08/29/20 I added a Spring Loaded "Spring Link" 7/16 x 4 3/4 that has a working load limit of 540 lbs, It's stainless steel and I think it was about $10 each at my local Big Box hardware store. These clip to my boat without a problem, and I'm pulling a tube for one person. These work great, i'm using them with the clips that are attached, but you cut cut off the original clips.

Works great for my pontoons. It's nice to have this another option for towing behind a pontoon. If you don't have a tower for your pontoon this works great.

Great for tubing

Great tow harness. Helps to knock the kids off their tubes every time!!!! Maybe knock some sense into them. I paid about half of what other retailers were charging.

floats great, adds two points of load to boat so less stress on boat. Easy connections. Wish metal hooks had rubber coating. Used clear 1 1/2 tubing around hook to protect gelcoat. Thumbs up.

Makes towing our tube a lot easier. Pulling in the center behind the boat works a lot better. Makes for a better ride.

It works n fits little hoops on ends of pontoons

Amazing fit.. works perfectly I was surprised and completely happy.. I would highly recommended this for any pontooner enthusiast
