Look, I mean no offense, but if you are a stick-thin 20-something, with no concept of cellulite, who still enjoys tight jeans, short shorts and keeping up with the Kardashians, why are you even looking at boxy cut t-shirt dresses? Cuz, sweetheart, this product isn't for you. No, boxy cut T-shirt dresses are made for people like me: a just-turned 40 work-from-home writer, with a not-as-flat-as-It-used-to-be stomach, who couldn't care less about the Kardashians, (I had to look up the spelling), no longer has patience for uncomfortable clothes (at least not on a daily basis) and wants to look like she put some effort into her appearance, with no actual effort. Simply put, I want something I could technically sleep in, that won't give the mailman the impression that I'm still wearing my PJs at 3:00 in the afternoon. (Or have my AirBnB guests wondering if I'm wearing a bra or not.) This dress is perfect. It's comfortable, forgiving and could even be a little sexy/stylish, if I paired it with healed booties, a long necklace...and I maybe tanned my legs. (Note: shapeless dresses are often the best way to draw attention to your legs.) Anyway...last summer I bought a few of Daily Ritual's jersey dresses. I liked them, but NOT for working from home. They were not only fairly form fitting, that material, while light weight, accentuates every imperfection. I feel like I need to wear SPANX, when I put them on, which is the opposite of comfortable and defeats the point of light weight material. (Those dresses also made my arms look fatter than they are.) This dress not only fits a lot looser, (I love the wide arm holes) the material is twice as thick as DR's jersey making it a lot more forgiving. (BTW...it's not terry cloth in the towel sense of the word, in fact, I'd equate this material more with the material used to make jersey sheets or maybe a really soft pair of yoga pants.) As for sizing, my measurements are 38-31-39 and I got the medium. It fits great, although when I buy more (and I am definitely buying more), I might try the large, just because I could stand for it to be even baggier...e.g. have some more swing at the bottom and maybe even fall off my shoulder up top. All in all, this was a good purchase.
