Love the lavender scent!

It washes my hair well, but I absolutely need a conditioner to get a comb through my hair after use of the shampoo. But not a bad trade-off, cuz the scent is absolutely wonderful! Will continue to buy.

difficult to use

It works but the formula changed in the past years and it really burns the eyes now

Ive used this for about 7 years, this used to be a very thick shampoo but now it is watery like. In addition, it REALLY burns the eyes like more so than other shampoos. We switched to a different brand because the price jump and change in quality but I do like the company. Might retry them again in the future.

Would have been 5 stars but….

Love the product but the shampoo pump was defective and wouldn’t work. Otherwise it would have gotten a 5 star. The conditioner pump worked just fine.

Great for curls and curly girl method - will not destroy curls, makes them lighter and shinier

A shampoo that’s good for curls and the curly girl method. I can use this as often as I like (every other day if I want) and it’s the only shampoo I’ve found that will not instantly dry out/destroy my curls with frequent use. It still foams well for scrubbing but doesn’t strip your hair. I recently went on vacation and had to use the spa level shampoo given in the hotel and it took a week to bring my hair back from that. This shampoo helped a lot in recovering them. I use the matching conditioner and substitute some washes with that. Seriously great pair for bouncy light and shiny curls, I’ve actually noticed a difference and so have others, and totally worth the money even though it’s a bit pricier than I would like.

Effective, gentle

I swim in chlorinated pool, live in dry winter heat, am over 60. This shampoo makes my hair clean, soft, not static. Perfect. (I use conditioner after.)

Smells wonderful very drying

I've used this shampoo for a year and a half and have had to cut off about 6 inches of my hair over the course of the last year. I thought it was from poor conditioning and highlighting my hair but since consulting my stylist and using tons of different conditioning treatments I think sadly the true culprit is this shampoo.... It's the only thing I actually changed when my hair started to feel dry and damaged about a year ago. I wish I would've figure it out sooner before I had to cut so much dry and damaged hair off. BEWARE if your hair starts to feel really dry, STOP USING THIS SHAMPOO!!

Great, Affordable, Natural Shampoo

I love this shampoo and conditioner! I've bought the 32 oz size 8 times now, so I figured I should leave a review. I try to stock all our showers with this. What's not to like? It smells great (lavender), it works well, it rinses well, it lathers well, and it's EWG approved. I will say I do have a nice whole-house water filter for our house (purchased here on Amazon), which really helps with all those things. We also have softer water, which is a bonus. I've been so pleased, I would never really consider moving to anything else. Has it ever come in the mail broken or leaking? Yes, I guess so. It's never been a big deal. I just rinse it off, and I've used the pump from the previous one on the new one. Sometimes you just need a no-brainer product to stock your bathroom and this is definitely it! I always get the 32 oz conditioner, as well.

USELESS

I bought this shampoo as part of my ongoing experimentation with avoiding obvious sulphates such as sodium lauryl sulphate. I have previously found Burt's Bees Shampoo and Wash to be quite good but not perfect so my search for a holy grail shampoo is ongoing. Despite not containing any of the usually-cited sulphates, this shampoo left my hair dry and in an unruly mess, with more than a hint of dreadful candyfloss-effect once dry. The shampoo does not lather and is therefore not user-friendly and is difficult and unpleasant to apply and use; it did not leave my hair particularly clean, either. As another commentator has stated, this shampoo has a smell that is reminiscent of an industrial product; it really is unpleasant and cloying. Due to the difficulty of application and the terrible end result of unruly hair once dried, I discontinued this shampoo after just one use. I put it in the bin and am continuing to use Burt's Bees.

It’s great but quite expensive

I have used this make of shampoo for many years as SLS cause me irritation. It’s a nice shampoo, however there ate many more SLS free on the market now and at a more reasonable price. I believe in paying money when it’s ‘worth it’ but shampoo is not something I worry about too much. As long as it cleans hair, doesn’t make it fall out, SLS Free and is a reasonable price I’m happy. This is good value but there are similar at a better price.

Fake product

Fake product, I realized from the shampoo thickness as I usually use it. The third photo is the real product packaging by checking the barcode and badly it contain sulphate I posted the ingredients on the last 2 photos. It came to me half the product leaked. So disappointed. I always trust buying from Amazon but really I had to throw them away for the sulphate.

Recent major recipe change

This smells beautiful! Very strong lavender. However, a recent receipe change has left it thin and watery. Looking at the back of the packet, most of the ingredients in the "body" of the shampoo have changed. It is now marked "sulfur free", but it has suffered for it. It used to feel thick and rich, bubbling up into a lather; it now doesn't clean all that well. But is smells great - those ingredients haven't changed. If I can find the old stuff, I'll stockpile a few bottles. If not, I'll look around.

Awful shampoo, awful packaging !

I don't know if it is a fake item, there is scent in this shampoo, almost quarter of the shampoo was spilled when I received it. I bought it on prime but it didn't come on the specified date. It was not packed securely, so I lost a good amount of shampoo. I should have returned it but I needed a shampoo so I ignored the spillage and decided to use it. I should have returned it. It made my scalp itchy and hair stays oily, no fresh clean hair effect. Really awful shampoo. A lot of people are saying nice things about the shampoo which made me think I probably got a fake item ! Not sure but I just wasted my money.
