They are wonderful but don’t change your Wi-Fi or have it go out

So I love these things and I have them all over my house Because I have macular degeneration. The travel is I got a new modem and a new Wi-Fi and a new Wi-Fi password. It would be absolutely wonderful if I could do all of them at once on the app rather than having to do one at a time. Unplug them reset them get down on my knees hit the button hit the button again wait till it’s Blinking slowly then go back go onto their Wi-Fi and then have it reset. It’s a lot to do when you can’t see. I want to say again though that when they are working they are wonderful

Fastest Way to Get This Smart Plug Set-Up

To save anybody the aggravation and time that I lost with setting this up, here’s the fastest way to do it. 1.) Connect your phone to your WiFi’s 2.4 GHz band of your WiFi router 2.) Here’s the most important step of them all - download and install the app called “Smart Life” and NOT the one in the instructions called “AvatarControls”. 3.) In the “Smart Life” app, add a new device called “Plug (BLE+Wi-Fi)”. 4.) If you’re setting up a timer schedule for each outlet (switch), you have to set each one up separately.

Never got it to work

The instructions for this are not great. Evidently, I would have to attach this to a certain bandwidth a certain way to get it to work. I tried everything. Also, it was still plugged into the outlet and I plugged a vacuum into it without thinking and it immediately tripped. Very disappointed as I wanted to check energy usage on a few appliances but could never get to that point. I gave it 2 stars because, who knows, Mayne it would've worked ok if I could get all the wifi stuff set up and usable. But, obviously couldn't get a reading from a vacuum ir anything else that pulls a decent amount of power without the device tripping.

Christmas Tree Alight!

So thrilled to be able to voice control my Christmas tree via Alexa than have to climb down behind the tree and plug and unplug it every single time! Yipee!! It's exciting every time I say 'alexa, turn on the christmas tree' or 'Alexa turn off the Christmas tree'! I know, geekly, but totally cool. Ok the product. It was pretty easy to set up. I think the instructions could have been written out a little easier to understand, but I'm old, so maybe it's just me. I think it was good value for the 4 pack that I bought. I've used another one on a bedroom lamp, so it's nice to tell Alexa to turn on the lamp prior to going to bed and it's already on when I walk in and to just tell her to turn it off once I'm in bed and ready to turn out the light, instead of fumbling for a light switch. I have two sockets left, can't wait to figure out where to put them!

Was easy to integrate

I had bought and returned two purchases of Wifi smart plugs, because they would not connect. The biggest problem in my view is that they used :different" apps. These units used the Simple Life app. That app makes all the difference in the ease of integration and use.

OK, it took some patience, for me, at least, with this company's products, but it's paid off so much for me. I started with their light bulbs, about a year ago, because they were cheap, but had all the high end features, and didn't need a hub. At the time, I thought the set up was a nightmare. I went bonkers, trying to get the app to change the names of the bulbs and set them up in the config I wanted. When I first went to buy these plugs, the reason I bought these specific ones, was because they were the same manufacturer / app as the bulbs I had, and I wanted to stay "hub-less", so it was a no-brainer. They had improved the app by that time, and it was much easier to set up and configure names, and rooms. I thought that most people would pull their hair out though, because I consider myself a bit tech-savvy. I just went in and had to switch some things around with my set up, let me tell you, they have it down now, oh boy. I was able to change the names of the devices, and reorganize room configuration, without even opening the app for the devices themselves, the alexa app set up the whole thing. You may have to do the initial set up through smart life (idk, but if so, I bet that's streamlined too), but I'll be deliberately looking for these products in the future, for value, and ease of use.

They're OK if they don't go offline

Love this product but after so long of use, 2 of the sockets out of 4 go offline and you have to cut off or disengage from a power source to reboot and sometimes have to delete and re setup the device... Sometimes I wonder if that's because of a power surge or not!!! Ihave new ones but a different brand and they seem to work like they should!! I would shop around and look at reviews and the best quality!!
