Changed my review. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. Got two of them and finally, they told me it's NOT to be used in a skillet!!!
I'm rating this a 4 because I haven't used it long. When I first received it I put it in the pond and it shut off later. Well, it did not go back on like it was supposed to. Apparently, it has software in it to have it shut off if there is no water. Well, in the morning, it was off and would not go back on. I did everything they said to do in the instructions. I purchased this through Best Nest, where I would not buy anything again from. They said something about not having restock fees, but you still may not get your total amount of money back. So, I called Beckett Co. I spoke to a representative and they asked me questions etc. They were very nice there and said they would send me a new pump after I emailed them the receipt. I did that immediately and received the new pump in 5 days. They stood behind their product. I have had Beckett pumps in my pond for 19 yrs. Never had a problem unless the pump got too old. The new ones are different. Actually, they are a much better fit. Now, I have to wait and see if it ever shuts itself off again, if it will turn back on when you plug it back in like it's supposed to. If it works like it should then this gets 5 stars, but seeing how I don't know how it will work in that situation yet, I am giving it 4 stars. Beckett co. gets 5 stars though.

Starting to shut down, possibly due to thermal sensor.
Lasted just over a year. Started off working well, but noticed it started to shut down during normal operation, despite using a filter bag to keep it free flowing. I've used other Beckett pumps on the same fountain and this one had the shortest operating life.

The pump is working fine. I had a little trouble locating a fitting to attach it to my hose but I found one and it is running my waterfall.

Does not work properly need to return second one
Need to return both of them because they are faulty. Have returned one need to return the second one but it is past February 22. What are our next steps?

Two failures of the 4700 pump
I replaced this pump twice unless than two years. They cease to work for no apparent reason while in service. I'm waiting for a response from Beckett on this matter. I replaced it with a Oase 5150 hoping to get better longevity. Also I have no issues with water quality or levels in my pond.
