Built Like A Tank
Last summer I picked up a used Gaiam ball at a thrift shop. (I think it was this one:Gaiam Balance Ball Beginner Kit (Small, Purple) ) Unfortunately, I think it had a history of over-inflation or was just worn-out, so inflating it to the correct size left it kind of flat, and I doubt it’s safe to use anymore, even though it’s not leaking. So recently I ordered a cheapReehut Anti-Burst Core Exercise Ball w/ Pump & Manual for Yoga, Workout, Fitness (Grey, 55cm) from Amazon, but when it arrived with a hole in it, I sent it back and opted to fork over the extra money for a Black Mountain Products ball. I’m glad that I did. When I took it out of the package, my first reaction was “Wow! This thing is heavy!” Unfortunately I did not think to weigh the ball before inflating it. The rubber is much thicker than either the Gaiam ball or the Rehut ball--something impossible to determine from product photos on the Internet! It came in a box with a small plastic foot pump, 2 air hole pins, and some really great, detailed instructions for how to inflate the ball (including circumference measurements as well as the standard diameter measure, both of which are in centimeters and inches) and notes on how to decrease your chances of puncturing the ball in use. The inflation instructions are explicit about only using the pump included because it won’t allow you to over-inflate the ball. I didn’t do that. Instead I used a multi-purpose plunger-type pump with the tapered inflation nozzle from thisMINTCRAFT FDQ910 1 1 1 Inflation Kit, 4-Piece to inflate the ball. As the ball got close to the correct size, I measured the circumference with a tape measure every few pumps, being very careful not to over-inflate it. The directions are also correct in saying that the ball will feel full before it actually reaches the correct/stated size. If you think your ball is mis-marked/smaller than stated, measure it to check, then keep pumping. Seriously. This ball seemed fully inflated at 48 cm tall (150 cm around), but I kept pumping and it eventually reached 55 cm tall (172 cm around). When I was done, the ball was very firm, with just a little give when I sat on it. That’s a *good* thing. Rubber stretches over time, and I don’t want my ball being super soft and squishy/not even ball shaped when inflated to 55 cm anytime soon! Since I didn’t use the included plastic foot pump, I can’t be certain of it’s quality, but it seems pretty cheap/flimsy. Honestly, I find it weird that pumps are included with exercise balls in the first place. I’d rather my exercise ball be a dollar or two cheaper and buy a better, multi-purpose pump separately. One thing I do want to note about the pump, however, is that the hose can be attached to one of two valves on the side of it. The blue one is for inflating the ball, and the red is for deflating the ball, so if you do use the included pump, make sure you’ve put the hose on the right valve, or you could be wasting your time. Because the ball is basically smooth on the outside, it might slip out of your hands if they get particularly sweaty. Since most exercise ball activities involve balancing on the ball, rather than holding it, however, I consider that a pretty minor negative. The smoothness also allows you to sort of see your reflection, which you may or may not find distracting. The ball appears to have a slight seam/mold line in the rubber around the middle. Because of the weight of the high-quality thick rubber, certain exercises that involve holding or lifting the ball may cause you to fatigue a little quicker. In the long run, this will also be a positive, as it will build a touch more strength, but if you’re incredibly weak, you may want to consider a different ball or a different form of exercise altogether. It's worth noting that the ball is made in China, for anyone who is a stickler about avoiding Chinese-made products or strictly buying U.S.-made ones. I'll take my products from just about anywhere, as long as they're decent quality. There were a couple of spots on the ball that seemed kind of dirty when I first opened it. While I suppose that it’s possible I could have received a used ball, I doubt it. I’m betting that it’s just a little bit of residue or something from the factory. Anyway, it pretty much came off when I went at it with a cheap melamine sponge. Beyond that, there are a few minor surface imperfections and the wrinkles/creases from its previous life folded up in a box are still smoothing out, but that’s to be expected. Overall I’m pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend it. The ball itself seems to be much higher quality than any other exercise ball I have experience with. Since I don’t mind the minor negatives, I still consider this a 5-star product. If I ever have any problems with it, I will update my review and include info on interactions with BMP customer service and all that jazz.

Quality Materials
Ball arrived in a nice package, was easy to inflate. I was excited to provide the 2000lb limit ball to my 1,000 lb colt for some quality play time. I left it slightly under inflated hoping that would help its longevity. It did not.. It held up to a variety of aggressive play in the 15 mins he owned it...throwing, pushing, kicking and biting...however his WWF flop down maneuver went a little too far and the ball became a rag....but not to worry... a great time was still had, using it similiar to a wet towel in a locker room. Stand back.... He brought it back over to his feed area..quite smug about his ability to waste my money even faster than usual... It really was a quality ball and brought much enjoyment, even in it's short lifespan..

2-3 Years using BMP 75cm, 65cm, 55cm Balls
I'm 5'11" 230 lbs and have been using this ball for almost a year now. I did get the 75" but that was simply too big and this 65" works just fine. I've had no issues in terms of the ball potentially popping. I'll sometimes give it a light kick or bounce it around too, just fun. The only comment I have is the noise it makes when getting positioned on the ball, it can be embarrassing at first (squeaky squeak) but the benefits outweigh. I compare this to my old office chair that I threw out because when I sat in it for one day my lower back was in pain; the ball is the best office "chair" replacement out there and this particular ball is good for the go. Update: I used the 65cm ball for almost two years until it went over the cord I use to charge my phone, I think it cut the rubber and the ball deflated. This didn't stop me from purchasing another ball. I now purchased the 55cm ball and find it more suitable because it's not as big as the 65cm. However, I think I'm in the odd-ball range where a 60cm ball would be perfect. In any case, the 55cm is working out a lot more comfortable, a bit hard because I've had to inflate it pretty good, but some coworkers commented that the way my legs sit on the ball is good. The whole posture thing. The product is good, I've even got another coworker to buy into the ball chair, so now, there are two of us in the office using 55cm balls to sit on. Our office just purchased a $180 office chair for the managers office. So, price wise, the ball is way better. Update 7/12/16: If you've read the above, you know that I've been using Black Mountain Products for awhile. I did have an incident with the 55cm ball. Yes, it burst. Keep in mind that I'm now about 250lbs but still 5'11". The ball popped when I was just sitting on it. However, it may have been inflated too much because as I've mentioned, it's a little bit small for someone who is 5'11". I went back to an office chair but couldn't take it anymore so, I contacted Black Mountain Products. BMP got back to me and indicated that the 55cm ball shouldn't have popped. Since then, they sent me a 65cm ball as a replacement and I'm back to using a ball en lieu of a chair. While it does concern me that the 55cm ball popped, BMP was good enough to send me a replacement ball at no charge. I don't have the 65cm ball inflated as much as I had the 55cm, it has a little bit of bounce; and with that, I'm confident that the ball won't burst. With that, if you're around the 250 lbs. range, get the ball size that's just a little bit bigger. This will allow you to inflate the ball to an adequate size for your height without potentially compromising the ball (mine could have just been an oddity). In any case, get the 65 cm if you're 5'11" and about 250 lbs.

Excellent Quality
Excellent quality, worth every import penny spent. So I thought, well it exploded yesterday, I may have over inflated it. But it burst early in the morning, and sounded like an explosion.. Every penny washed way. PS- I am 6ft tall and 75cm was too huge for me. 65 is perfect.

This ball is cool. It came with really clear instructions - what ...
This ball is cool. It came with really clear instructions - what height and diameter you need to inflate it to - which is good as it takes an eternity to pump up (with the tiny foot pump, as electric ones don't work with it) and for a while seems not willing to expand. But the instructions are really clear to keep going as it's made of really thick material and needs to be pushed to get to correct size. I used chalk to mark diameter as it was a marathon. The leaflet says its made by a family company (I got the recommendation for the brand from a US fitness blog) and it looks cute and tough. I have had it for a week or so and have just re-inflated it to keep it super sized. I read lots of reviews and fitness blogs before purchasing because my back is not good - and it's really boring to have to wade through promotions and paid for reviews on amazon, so I thought I would review. The only recommendation is that it would be better with a larger foot pump (but that would make it more expensive, and it's really good value for money I think).

10/10, would buy again.
Exactly what I ordered. The ball is rated at 2000 lbs and this allows me to exercise freely without worrying about the integrity of the ball (I weigh 250 lbs and I use the ball for crunches and various floor exercise). When inflated to specifications, it is firm with a slight give and really bouncy. I also use it as a gaming chair, it is really comfortable and will strengthen your core while you are slaying dragons/zombies/noobs. I use it on a mat, to prevent punctures and to have a better grip with my feet. If you have back pain, use this lightly (no fancy moves) for 15 minute, 3 times a week and you will see a difference. Do not let the pump flimsy looks deceive you, it is efficient for its size and construction (it is simple yet effective). I added it to my camping gear, to inflate a matress or stoke a fire. Nice compact design. I you would recommend this product to anyone interested in purchasing a quality, sturdy exercise ball. I called the customer service regarding an offer that was included with my purchase and the staff was friendly and professional. I am entirely satisfied with my purchase.

Highly recommended as desk chair
Got this for use as office chair at home. I am 5’ 2” and according to the purchasing guide, i should use the 55cm and i bought it. However, it was too small and uncomfortable for use as desk chair so i bought the 65cm and returned the smaller yoga ball. This size is perfect for me and when on the desk, i am able to comfortably rest my elbows on my table at 90 degrees and am able to sit straight. So, no matter what you read online about the appropriate sizing, do get one size bigger for use as desk chair. I find that i need to replenish air once every few days, so i keep the pump close and handy. Shipping was on time, the product is very, very sturdy. I am very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend.
