It works, but its safety is a little questionable
We have two bathrooms and I wanted to get an identical raised toilet seat as the first one, but it was no longer available, so I ordered this brand instead. I definitely like the other one better. This one doesn't seem as sturdy and it moves around on the toilet making it feel like it could slide off when you sit down. The other one we have has rubber pads that help keep it from moving around. This one doesn't. It also seems to loosen itself somehow. The other one doesn't. We know to just carefully sit down on it, but I don't like that we have to be so careful. Other than that, it works fine. Like most toilet seats, you have to be somewhat of a contortionist to install them and this one was no different. I would search out the other brand if I had to buy another one.

It will lift you up in the saddle
This toilet seat lift does raise you up. The hole is smaller than my bowl, so it doesn't fit me as well as I would like. It does have a joint in it so it can be lifted but cleaning is more frequent. I don't want to ge too graphic but it is now an addition 3.5 inches to the water level. Think about the splash factor. I'm just saying. Life is full of tradeoffs.

Works great after knee surgery
I had a total knee replacement, and this seat raiser lifted the seat, so that it’s not it’s difficult to sit down on the toilet.

Solid riser.
This was a great buy for my mom once I bolted it on it was solid didn't move around worth the money.

Easy fix for hinged riser not staying in up position:
Some purchasers complained that the riser would not stay in the up position without holding it. It was a very simple matter to fold a couple sheets of toilet paper, and put them between the moveable and stationary parts hinge area to provide enough friction to keep the riser up. An extremely cheap and simple fix to a minor problem. No other complaints whatsoever.

No definitely not to buy
I had vvv bad experience with this product. The product is not secured at the hinge with any screw but has a small knob which just snap if one shifts on the side, Would not recommend to anyone specially old or one with disabilities.

Healing a lot faster now
I hurt my knees and the muscle in the top front of each thigh. Using the washroom with my regular height toilet seat was torture getting down and up again. Every small bit of progress I was making being confined to the couch was being lost every time I had to used the washroom. There's no way I could wait to buy a tall toilet and get it installed (or afford that 10 times higher price). Someone suggested this riser idea so I took a chance and ordered the one that seemed right for me. It arrived very quickly, it was a breeze to install (and I'm not that steady on my feet right now !). I'm not re-injuring myself every time I use the washroom anymore. Once my injury is healed I'll remove the riser again and tuck it away until I need it again. It's been a real help.

Knee Issues ..... Get this
I had the other raised toilet seat that was not hinged. Worked great except the plastic tabs to hold the seat stationary were a nuisance and the toilet was a chore to clean. Finally one of the tabs broke. I had to replace, so I noticed this hinged seat, bought and installed, plus I could use my original toilet seat too. Awesome buy because now I can lift the raised seat to clean the seat and the toilet. Good purchase and comfortable. So, if you have knee issues or other issues that makes it difficult for you to get up from low toilets, then, buy this hinged raised toilet seat and solve your problem. Oh yeah, very easy to install.

Works well when installed with grab bar
Some complained they had to use double face tape to keep from wiggling around. I also needed the grab bars from Carex and when that’s installed, the seat riser can’t move around. Seems like they’re meant to work together. My 91 year old mother-in-law liked the setup and said it was better than the one installed at her home. She liked that it had a regular toilet seat on top. Her’s doesn’t.
