I honestly can’t say enough good things about soft rope storage baskets like this. We have a few dozen in our home (probably more) of varying sizes. They’re used in every room of the house, and even in closets. Plastic bins might come with lids and be stackable, but they look terrible. I don’t really relish the thought of a bunch of plastic bins or plastic organizers around my house for storage. Sure they work, but it’s not really a look I think a lot of people would enjoy. Plus, things get buried when you get a big stack of plastic containers going, and depending on what you’re storing in the containers, a lot of space can be wasted if things don’t fit well into the container. You will never have that problem with these soft rope baskets. You can easily fill these with items of various height and width. Since the sides and bottom are malleable, even weirdly shaped items can be tucked inside. The included “T” divider is held in by velcro, so it can be removed if you don’t want to divide up the interior of this basket or if you plan to put the basket in the laundry. The reason why we love these soft rope storage baskets so much? They are incredibly durable. Some of the ones we have in use are upwards of 15 years old, but you’d have to look really close to see the wear. Plastic often yellows with age and becomes brittle, or it can warp. If one of these rope baskets gets dirty, it just goes in the wash. We’ve had to replace maybe a half dozen over the years due to stains that would not come out and the the one time our GSD puppy dumped his toys out of one of these rope baskets and destroyed it. Any fuzz or pilling that develops on the outside of the basket after laundering is easily removed with a fabric shaver. A good stain treatment gets out most stains. Make sure to remove the “T” divider before washing as it’s make out of fabric covered cardboard. Wash on gentle, and dry on the lowest setting or air dry, and the basket is ready again. Depending on the room they’re used in, I’ve added some decoration to the outsides of some of these rope baskets, like iron-on patches or lettering. You could also do decorative embroidery for a personalized gift. We use our baskets to store everything from makeup to pet toys to remotes to picnic supplies. I have one in my car that holds sun glasses, extra masks, Kleenex, etc. We have one by the door for sunscreen and bug spray in the summer, and hats and gloves in the winter. We’ve got them in use for holding/organizing craft supplies, snacks, laundry supplies, office supplies like pens and tape, charging cables and bricks, to help keep closets organized, and anything else we need to corral. I love being able to tuck some of my bullet journaling supplies into one of these baskets to carry everything outside for a quiet afternoon. One gets packed with snacks, napkins, plastic silverware, and the like for road trips. They are a wonderful way to give someone a gift that has multiple pieces and take some time to customize this basket for them. Depending on the size, some of these soft rope storage baskets are sold for around $13-$20 each. Plastic bins can be the cheaper option, but not if you want a bin with a securely fitting, mostly air tight lid or even handles. Before recently ordering more of these rope baskets, I priced comparably sized plastic storage bins and wasn’t prepared to see just how much the cost of plain and simple plastic storage containers had risen. The plastic bins I needed were the same price as these rope kind!
