The working person’s pants
I work retail, mostly day stocking. You need all kinds of tools on you: box cutter, latex cloves, pens, hat, three other kinds of gloves; not including your wallet, phone and keys. These pants allow me to carry them all at once, in a comfortable fashion. I do like the feature of the outside pockets being able to fold into your inside pockets if you don’t have to use them. At times I feel I like I have too many pockets, tend to misplace things. Also, be that they are heavy duty, they can get hot at times. I have two pairs of these, and plan to buy another if I wear one out, whenever that will be.

Don't bother looking for another brand of work pants!
Forget it! These are hands down the champions of work pants. Whomever CAT had designing these truly understands the craftsman/laborer. I work deploying racks of servers and switches, running cabling, installing loose gear. These pants keep tools, parts & pieces right there. No walking back for something I forgot. Phone, marker, shears, measuring tape, screwdriver, box cutter, glasses, etc. I'm practically a walking toolbox. LOL. Now add comfort. I hate skinny jeans. These are roomy & rugged. They wash easily and are ready to wear right out of the dryer. I have a pair in every possible color offered. Hey CAT, Please add white & desert camo & any camo to the palette. Downside: Very snug at the waist and sometimes a 36 feels more like a 34, so better to go with 38.

Comfortable, flexible, temperate
I have been wearing these pants for a few years now, on my 3rd pair. Very much like this pants, they are, at least to me, extremely comfortable. I work for a major retailer so lots of use and abuse walking around, kneeling down, impacts, cuts, etc. Pants hold up very well on the outside for around a year or so, they are very good year round in 100 degrees during summer all the way to negatives in the winter, I wear my pants a little baggy and long so size fit was perfect for the pants themselves. Some of the main problems of these that I've ran into was the kneepad inserts are never directly centered over the knee with just general walking around then kneeling, so I'm very often having to pull my pants taut and manually center it instead of being able to quickly drop to a knee. Also on the topic of kneepads is, as shown in the second picture, the fabric underneath is very thin and often tears at the seam at the top of the pocket. Not a huge deal as it hasn't compromised any strength of the pants and the kneepad still stays in, but obviously creates a draft which in winter can be a bit chilly, also makes putting in and pulling out the insert kind of annoying. I am running the Cat kneepad inserts designed for the pants, so its not an aftermarket insert causing problems. The fabric does get worn through in places after a while. In the first picture are holes from my phone being in the pocket, which is the lower hole, and a hole from the keys I would carry around at work. The carabiner scraping against the fabric eventually starting ripping a hole through it which I tried to remedy with some Gear Aid tape. It helped in that scenario but other areas not so much. Another place that rubbed holes was by my ankles where the pant legs rub together which isn't a big deal but it is a point of contact to be aware of. Another area being the 3rd picture, one of the belt loops the stitching came loose after about a year, it still held on to a few stitches but that is the place I hang my personal keys from so was worrying that it might tear all the way off and me lose my keys. One last problem, the 2nd pair I got had a loose button for the pants, so under the force of my belt it would push backward into my waist and cause some pain and annoyance. That's about it for the bads, so for some goods. As stated in the first paragraph, very comfortable. I'd say they fit exactly how I prefer to have pants fit but obviously everyone has different tastes. They do come feeling a little stiff but after a couple days of working and a wash or two they get extremely flexible. Has many, many pockets for carrying various stuff, all my regular work carry stuff like multi-tool, flash light, headphones, phone, keys, wallet, etc. But also lots of other space, I dedicated one of the pockets to my work device, can carry any meds in a different pocket. The velcro on 2 of the belt loops is VERY strong which can sometimes be obnoxious to undo but I'd say more of a positive than a negative. Obviously for a work pants theres a hammer loop for anyone who might need that. The pullout pockets work great for separating stuff as they have plenty of room for nails, tape, screwdrivers, etc. Seem like they'd be very good pants for roofing work although I haven't done any of that in them. All in all, I do very much recommend this pant as they put up to the 8 hours a day use and abuse I put them through, just be cautious of them tearing through at certain places.

Best work pants I've found for the trades
I've been through countless kinds of pants trying to find some that last for more than a few months (I'm hard on my work clothes) I've had these for almost a year and they are still in great shape... I love the tool pockets for crawling around in attics and crawl spaces... only thing I can say negative is that I would prefer something other than velcro for the back pocket cause it gets all frayed using it all the time... aside from that I will be using these for work until I can't get them anymore... but please get the light brown ones in my size, I've been trying to order that color for like a year and they never have anywhere near my size or anything that fits a normal human who isn't a midget or badly overweight... I already recommend these to others and get compliments from other workers all the time, haha

Does the job very durable and does not make you sweat
Amazing product I own two pairs. I am a mechanic and I work in mine all day in the dirt in the mud you name it. I have tried Jonson and allot of other makes nothing comes close to this product . You can slide knee caps in to help if you are on your knees all day. The waist strap on the inside is lined with a yellow rubber grip so that the heavy build of the pants don’t pull them down off you when you move around . I have not had mine split yet and I don’t think they will after all that is the great test of all work pants.

GREAT
THESE PANTS ARE GREAT. I am mad i did not purchase them long ago. So many pockets for tools and has a none slip waist band. These are so dope for my job. I will be buying more colors. Super durable and flexible. Love them

Waistline runs one size smaller
Seem very durable. Non slip (rubberized) waste band irritates bare skin, works great with shirt tucked in. Waste size runs one size small, inseam is good.

Happy so far.
I like these pants the stitching is stronger and material thicker than any other pants I have bought in the past. That being said as our temperature gets warmer I can see that they might be less comfortable. O well can’t win them all.

Too long
Very good solid material. Lots of storage room. Only issue is they are much longer than description. Can’t hem because the pockets of where knee pads go are almost at the ground. We’ll find a way to make them work :)

Great functionality, fit a bit weird.
These pants have been awesome. I'm a finish carpenter and so sometimes the full belt isn't required. Great to have lots of places to store pencils, tape, a little combo square. Also, the knee pad pockets are a godsend. No more elastics cutting into the backs of your knees, and you've always got them. Material is really rugged My only cons: the hammer loop is useless, it's too low. I end up carrying my hammer or putting on a belt with just a hammer loop. And the fit is weird. They fit smaller than regular pants, but about on par with other work pants. I recommend going 4"-6" up from your Jean size. They are also nearly drop crotch. Gotta yank them up anytime I get on a scaffold or into the back of the van.

Quality workwear, Great value, excellent pockets, Unbeatable customer service... when directed to the right place...
I bought these pants as a replacement for a much higher cost item from a big box store. I'm a carpenter and as such I tend to wear through pants like my underwear... Pardon the image, but these pants definitely fit the bill and hold up just as good, if not better than those from the big box stores. The material they are made of is actually decently thick, and resistant to tears. Though if you snag yourself on that stick of rebar, its going to do some damage. They also come with plenty of storage pockets, with two external pockets on a flap for all your miscellaneous screws, bolts, nuts, small tools. Having these as removable via a zipper could be a plus though, as half the time i don't need them and they are just in the way. But that could also provide its own problems, where to store them, and issues with the zipper, etc. To me a minor detail and i'm ok with having them as i always have various bits/ pencils stuck in them anyways. The pockets on the rest of the pants are somewhat well thought out, and useful. There are two pockets, one on either leg that perfectly fit my samsung s7 WITH a case on it (something my old name brand pants lacked ability for). These days as a carpenter, not having a case is like throwing your phone straight out the box into dumpster. So i'm glad they made the pockets big enough to not only properly fit the phone, but properly close the pocket incase you happen to need to lie completely upside down from rafters (to OH&S, i did not do that on purpose...;) ). Ohh and it is comfortable to wear all day in those pockets as well. Now on the right side there are a series of two pockets which work nicely to hold my ever ready olfa knife which is always on me, and also a spare pencil, incase the one i'm using gets stolen by another coworker... again... It also fits a long snout tin snips rather well. The pocket on the left thigh is also quite useful, but mostly for holding my framing square or any piece of paper i may need such as a blueprint plan. There are literally so many pockets its hard to find a use for them all, but im impressed with how well thought out they were. Now on to my favorite option of the pants. Most brands have these so its not just a plus for Cat for making them. They have a velcro belt hoop on either side of the pants. I've found installing a carabiner on each side with one edge flatened down to about 1/8th thick. This then becomes my go to holster for my tape measure, and no matter how often i hang upside down and back upright again, it will not fall out! But the tape may need to have the belt hook shaped to fit the carabiner if it is too thick, which is why i shaved mine to be 1/8th inch. The carabiner also doubles as a tool loop for keys, drills with a hook, or even my caulking gun. I've also fashioned a hammer loop out of a 9 inch long, 1/4 inch diameter piece of scrap metal rod. unconventional, yes, but i hate wearing a full size tool belt with a passion! Thats why these pants fit my needs so well. They also have two pockets to install kneepads for those of us that kneed them... sorry, i had to! They work exceptionally well though to be fair, i haven't really tried them with cat brand knee pads. I just fasioned my own from some thick packaging foam that protected some fake rock we installed. Though i do imagine the Cat kneepads work better and will update my review once i get a set. Now on to durability. I've normally worn out a name brand pair in about 8 months to a year, depending on how self conscious i am of the holes showing my underpants... I've worn the first set for a year now, nearly every single day of work, and while the color is faded a bit from working in the sun all summer, i have only managed to snag one leg on something. so one hole, and i did have the seam in the left thigh pocket come undone after 6 months use. That i'd say meets or exceeds my expectation, and i'd be happy to recommend to anyone looking to buy a set of pants for less than any big box stores sell them for. As a side note, i must mention that the second pair i had did have the same pocket tear after 2 weeks use. At this i wasn't happy and so I contacted Caterpillar directly about it and they took care of it for me without issue! To be honest though, don't contact amazon expecting them to direct you to cat, they sent me to Catfootwear.com who don't even sell pants... they did this twice, then i ended up having to contact 4 different suppliers of Cat pants before one of them gave me the contact info for their supplier, through whome i was able to get in contact with Caterpillar. Overall when dealing with Caterpillar my experience was the reason alone for buying the pants again!

Your co-workers will be envious.
These pants fit exactly as I expected, i love them and my co-workers all want a pair now. Dont worry about people saying to order a size up. Go look at your pants and read the size, thats what you need.
