All Season Vahva tekniikka luotettavaan toimintaan kaikissa sääolosuhteissa. Dual-Fuel-teknologian avulla voit käyttää Coleman Liquid Fuelia tai lyijytöntä bensiiniä. Kestävä lyhty retkeilyyn ja ulkokäyttöön.

Burns Unleaded gas. An improvement on the basic old Coleman Lantern
I needed a lantern to use in an outbuilding. This has the great beauty that it uses unleaded auto gas. So no need to have a special fuel supply. Lawnmower gas works. I love it. Starts easily. Not as loud as what I remember of old lanterns. The mantles aren't as fragile as I remember either. I comes with a special funnel to fuel it. I think it is intended to fill it to the right level. It may be me but I don't seem to have it working right as yet. Small issue. Overall I'm very pleased with it.

The coleman lantern
Great craftsmanship and simple trusty construction. And the best no more mess with kerosene since this one uses heptan (white gas)

Arrived with glass broken
Wanted to use this for tent camping. Reminded me of the one my Dad had for night fishing and camping out. No longer need one at present. Was returned.

That's a Lot of Light
Coleman camping gear has been a staple for generations, and the current Coleman Dual Fuel Powerhouse Lantern continues that fine tradition with a build-quality that's rare today. It appears to be every bit as tough as its grandparents, without the cheap throw-away feel so many products now have. The light output from this lantern really is amazing -- 1,107 lumens is a LOT of light and MUCH brighter than my old lantern -- and although the hiss brings back fond wooded memories, it's much quieter than I expected. The gentle sssssss is actually quite soothing. And giving it a few pumps on occasion is a fun part of the outdoor experience. It also adjusts down in completely variable settings to a warm, dim glow that's just perfect for ending the evening around the campfire, enjoying a toasted marshmallow, and watching the embers die down before hitting the sleeping bag. Although propane is convenient it doesn't perform as well in low temperatures or high altitudes, and Coleman liquid fuel is much more economical to use. One gallon of fuel is equal to about four and a half bottles of propane, so I figure in current Walmart dollars, I spend about $10 for same amount of performance I would get from $18 worth of propane. It adds up. Plus the one container is much easier to transport and store without the recycling headaches of the propane canisters. Since it's dual fuel, it will also run on unleaded gasoline. Although I would not use it by preference because of the ethanol in today's fuel that breaks down so quickly and attracts water, part of my reason for purchasing this in addition to camping is emergency preparedness, and the likely availability of unleaded gas in a pinch is a lot greater than that of propane cylinders. Propane doesn't degrade in the bottle which is a plus, but the seven year life span of unopened Coleman Fuel is good enough for me. I can rotate it out more often than that and have fun while doing it. Yes, this lantern will work with the auxiliary flint igniter that can be picked up for about $4. It doesn't fit perfectly, and the addition of a couple of extra washers would probably make a better installation, but I was able to mount it to the side of one of the oblong match holes just as it came and make it work with no problem. A thing to note is that if you are not using the igniter, matches are a requirement. A long BBQ type lighter will not fit into the hole. Longer fireplace matches with the extra reach are really good, but regular ol' Diamond Strike Anywhere Matches work just fine as long as you hold them by the end. Those mantles are quite a ways up there. BTW, for any fueled lantern, always carry extra mantles. They're cheap, easy to install if one gets damaged, and can make the difference between enjoyment and disappointment. I've always used the tie-on type, but the clips-on type are a lot easier to install and will be what I use from now on. This is a great purchase and I anticipate many years of use.

Supper bright lantern.
The only thing I don't like about this lantern is the cost of fuel to run it. While much cheaper than propane White gas is still expensive, unleaded fuel works but also requires more maintenace so I have been told. But I do like having the ability to use unleaded if it is needed. I have some 288 lanterns that I bought back in the 1990's (they still work) and this thing is much brighter. My camping group is growing in size and needed more lanterns.

Is Coleman sending defective products to Amazon?
I ordered this lamp and received it in an undamaged box but the lamp inside had a deep dent in the side, obviously dented at the manufacturer's. I sent it back for a replacement and got another dented lamp inside a perfect, undamaged box. Makes me wonder if Coleman is offloading their damaged products on Amazon customers. I didn't send the second lamp back because the dent was less severe.

Classic for a reason
Here in the Pacific Northwest, most of the summer burn bans were on. Fortunately, gas powered lanterns were still an option in most places, and when you can't have a fire, the light and heat from a lantern like this is nearly as good. There's nothing quite like the whispering hiss of a white gas lantern in operation. I can't really tell a difference in quality in these modern incarnations of the Coleman white gas lantern from the 1970s versions my parents still have, and that's a pretty good thing! Assembly was simple, and installing the included mantles wasn't too hard either as long as you can tie a regular old overhand knot. They're reasonably fuel efficient, and though harder to light than the propane version and definitely harder to use than a battery powered LED lantern, there's still something to be said for the kind of atmosphere and quality of light that these put off. It can't be said that either propane OR white gas are particularly environmentally friendly, but the one advantage is that a white gas lantern in particular is refillable essentially on-demand from a very recyclable can, whereas the propane models tend to use the disposable canisters that are hard to recycle—not to mention difficult to tell how full they are and generally NOT refillable unless you purchase refillable models and the refilling kits. I end up carrying around several partially empty containers all the time, and that's terribly annoying and space-wasting. Consider picking up a storage case for travel and longer term storage to help prevent damage to the relatively fragile glass globes that these types of lanterns have and you'll have few problems.

Coleman powerhouse
Have not used it yet but had one before witch lasted for almost 15 years in witch I sold in good working order hard times but got this one now these lamps are extreamely bright but do not use uk petrol coleman fuel only as it blocks the jet as I found out the hard way on a norhstar I bought a few years ago after a while the light intensity decreased until nothing did some research found out premium is no good it's designed to run on regular unleaded petrol so be carefull what you use

Best Lantern we had brought
What can I say, this lantern is economical, very bright, which is what we want for Camping, has a toughened glass, compared to our last one which was very thin and broke easily. The mantles are so easy to put on, unlike our last one too. I'd defiantly buy this one again if the need to, but it would no doubt be a very long time as I can see this one lasting for quite some time yet.

Finally I got it back!
A few years ago, during my college time in America, I used to own a Coleman Dual Fuel Lantern (model 285, not this 295 monster). Because of my luggage capacity, I had to sell it before I left the States. That lantern with me went on many camping trips, in Lassen Volcano, In Death Valleys, in Joshua Tree... I finally back on track recently and went on a camping trip during Easter break. After the trip, I realized something is missing, that makes me so comfortable and confident even if I camp alone. I scroll through my old pictures and I found the dual-fuel lantern shining on the campsite. After I saw that picture, I immediately bought one, but this time, a larger one, the powerhouse version. I don't know why, many people say the actual campfire makes you comfortable. But for me, the light this fuel lantern puts out for me, feels more relaxing and comfortable. Normally I went on a camping trip for a minimum of 2 nights, using LED isn't a proper option. The big portable camping battery is heavy and expensive(good one from $500 up to$1000+) and also needs to add up the solar panel's price. So I used the LED lantern in my tent only, and operate a gas lantern in the open space. In my previous experience with my 285 dual-fuel, I run the lantern on a medium setting and partially high for cooking and cleaning, for 2 nights with only 1 tank of fuel, and still have fuel left. the model 295, One tank of fuel can run 5hour on high mode and 20+on low mode. 1 Liter of Shellite can stand multiple days of use. That is way enough for me to not worry about how to charge the 6-7 Hour run time on my 600 Lumen LED lantern on a long camping trip. Anyway, I received this lantern in one piece (which is a good thing). Since I owned a similar one before, the setup is super easy. If you are a first-time user, just follow the exact steps in the menu, and you can light up in about 5 minutes. Another tip for someone that is new to the Coleman lantern world, since the Coleman is not available in Australia, the Shellite is the one that you gonna put in as the fuel source. Don't put petrol unless is an emergency. Petrol will clog the generator easily, especially the cheap one. All in all, very good lantern, and is a little bit heavier than the 285 dual fuel, so just keep in mind. If you need to bring one on your hiking trip, buy the Coleman dual-fuel model 285 (No "Powerhouse" written on the lantern). But if you want brightness and normally car camping, then buy the big one, 100lumen will make some difference.

Very effective replacement or our old-school Coleman lantern
Our old Coleman lantern, purchased over 30 years ago, was starting to show its age, and some rust was starting to bubble on the bottom. Because of this, we decided to get a new Coleman lantern. After some research, we selected this Powerhouse model. While I have not tried using gasoline, it certainly lights easily and pumps out lots of light using the white gas / naphtha that we have always used in the past. This lantern works just like you'd expect if you've used the older Coleman lanterns, that it, it works very well.

Hermosa pieza!
