1 year review, still working perfectly!
After a year of use of this combo set, I can say I'd gladly get another cygolite light set if I ever need a new one. Summer and winter, rain and sun, early morning or late afternoon, these lights still work just like the first day I got them. I've had zero major issues with Cygoligyt Dash Pro 600 and Hotrod 50 since I've owned them. Still great battery life for what they're intended for (can last at least 4 hours on some bike rides I do depending on settings), nothing has gotten lost or broken, its very compact, and is easy to take on and off. Its bright enough for nighttime and daytime use in your typical Urban / Suburban environment (that these light are good for) but dont expect it to be great for a rural outdoor trail (as a compact backup light, this can be a decent light for getting yourself back to home or to camp if your main light fails.) Only minor complaint I have, the usb charging plug/cover on the front light (dash pro 600). When it was new, I had the same issues as others have mentioned that the plug wasn't easy to reinsert into the usb charging port to keep water out. This has become easier over time thanks due constant use but it is an annoyance for new owners. (as you can see in my close-up photos, the cover is sitting flush in the port thanks to wear and tear. ) Not a huge issue but it is something to keep a note if if your looking for rain/water resistant bike lights. (All but 1 photo was made just before writing this review, so you're all seeing what these lights look like after a year of use. Still had the original packaging so i did place them roughly where they were when i got them and at least show the run time per mode on each light according to what the box says (as its not fully show here on the product page).

Rear light won’t hold a charge **UPDATE**
Love this light set except the rear light won’t hold a charge like the front does. Found out after the return window closed :( ***** Updated to 4 stars (would be a 5 if the flash mode that I think is most visible/safest for road riding lasted longer) Went to the company website and sent an inquiry. They emailed back right away with this info: The battery life will vary depending on the different modes you are in while riding. It is possible you may have been riding with the High Flash mode which only last 3:30 hrs. Below I have included a list of all the modes and their corresponding run times: High Flash / 3:30 hrs. High Steady / 1:30 hrs. Group / 100 hrs. Zoom / 6 hrs. SteadyPulse / 6 hrs. Low Flash / 30 hrs. Seller should update product info.

favorite headlight
I prefer Cygolite headlights over others. Over the last 14 years I have purchased 3. after 2 years this one required more charging. I contacted the company and sent it in for repair. they sent me a shipping label and charged me $7 for a new motherboard and $5 for return shipping... $12 is way worth it for this light! I appreciate a company who stands by their products. Very good and responsive customer service!

High Quality Lights With Excellent Mounts
This is a great combo pack. Both lights offer a generous number of brightness and pattern options, and battery life has not been an issue. The rear light, with it's narrow design, blends in well with the seatpost. I like to make brightness/pattern adjustments as I transition between bike paths (low steady light) and streets (brighter pulsing), and the button is positioned in a way that easily allows for that. The mount on the front light allows for easily adjustments downward to avoid blinding oncoming bikers on bike paths. Like the rear light, there are excellent brightness/pattern options that are suitable for bike path or street. I'm pleased with the mounts, as they are easy to fasten securely, which is more than I can say for my Nightrider 900 / Lezyne Strip Pro I previously owned.

Hands down, best lights available at any price
This is my third set. First time, I purchased them at a Performance Store. I have this set on all my bikes, and a single charge lasts fairly long time. Not only that, the strobe function on the front light is extremely bright and really gets attention--may be too much. It also helps with making drivers to slow down once they pass me. Highly recommended.

Easy and Bright
Easy to install, easy to charge, easy to remove, easy to turn on and off...and BRIGHT. The only 4 vs. 5 star thing is the headlight mounting system, the headlight attaches from the rear and the light is heavy in the front which creates a propensity for it to dip. Keeping it extra tight tends to do the trick but the longevity of the "rubber band" clasp puts longevity in jeopardy! I would highly recommend this for both beginners and experts!

Battery last long. I was surprised. Light is good enough for riding through the woods and for urban in the lowest setting you can still be seen. I do have the light and motion but that one heats up and over kill for most rides

Bright and safe!
Great lights both for day and night riding. The batteries last a long time and the multiple modes are useful. Keep in mind that the headlight is shaped for a regular bar and it is a little rough to mount on aero bars with the stock strap, if there was an easy mounting option for aero I would’ve given 5 stars!

Bright, yes. But cycling through 8 modes is overwhelming
I just took this out on my first ride. It's certainly bright! In broad daylight, I can see the reflected flashing on the road signs that I approach. On a paved bike trail with no lighting and a new moon, it lit the path adequately for cycling. My main annoyance with the headlight, and my reason for withholding a 5-star rating, is that it can be very tedious to select the desired lighting mode. There are 9 modes for the headlight: a "boost" mode (maximum steady light on all LEDs) that is entered/exited by double-clicking the power button. All of the other 8 modes are selected by single-clicking the power button to cycle through them. How do you do that without temporarily blinding or dazzling yourself? There is no indicator of which mode you're in, so the only way to know is to look at the output, which is unpleasant to do, even if you don't stare directly into the light. You'll likely need to cycle through it twice, so that you can calibrate your eyes by compare the lighting levels. There should either be more controls available, or some indicator of the current mode. The taillight is harder for me to review, as I don't see it when riding. I'd like to see more mounting options than the strap, though. A clip would be handy for attaching the light to some bags. The rubbery cover for the micro-USB connector is somewhat easy to confuse with the other rubbery piece, which is an annoyance to try to stuff back into place if you accidentally pull it out instead of the connector's cover.

Nice variety of settings, bright when they need to be and make me visible during night rides
Happy with my purchase. These lights are easy to put on my bike and take off, stay in place pretty well and allow me to see well on a dark bike path at night. They also make me visible during night rides. What I needed. Charging them takes a few hours and you might want to have second charging cable on hand so as to be able to charge both lights at the same time.

Great light, but poorly designed features.
What's useful or unique this light has is the pulse mode. Why pulse? Its supposed to increase visibility and enhance safety by illuminating the road ahead. However, that mode only lasts a mere 3 hours on paper. Such a disappointment. All other modes are the same as what competition brands are offering.
