These are not readily available at the big box hardware chains. This and its companion the 17242B were needed for a faucet repair in 2013. The old ones had hung in there since 1988. The cold water one was cracked. Not that in the package they were both needed squeezing together, so they seem rickety, thus 4 not 5 stars. But they did the job

Wrong size. Would have worked well.

It works. Only negative was I had to use pliers to loose it up one time, thankfully didn't break it.

Stem seal leaks!!!

This cartridge will turn your water on & off but leaks at the stem (drains the shower head piping) when the water is off. I would have returned it it if my existing cartridge had not broken upon removal. Apparently, the stem seal o-ring is improperly sized and/or of the wrong composition/durometer material.

Perfect Fit

Perfect replacement for worn out stems. Perfect fit. I used these in a two handle tub faucet that really needs to be replaced so it was a crap shoot to begin with. No complaints.

Quality product for a good price

These are difficult to find in hardware stores, and when I have found them they are twice as expensive. This is a quality product for a good price
