Nearly Perfect Tech-Bag
I was looking for a new backpack specifically to carry my laptop and finally found this bag. It has amazing space, it's rigid, and has offered a great alternative to move tools around job sites when I don't necessarily need my entire rolling setup. The laptop sleeve is surrounded by cushion. Overall exactly what I was looking for, only complaint is the right side pocket... Not sure what they invisioned for that pocket but I find it to be an odd size and would have preferred a flexable open Mesh pocket for water bottles or whatever.

Nice and big if that is what you are looking for, but definitely a little uncomfortable
The pack is big, maybe a bit bigger than I expected, but it holds everything I need it to. It seems well constructed out of quality materials, the bottom has a nice texture to it and will definitely hold up to a work environment, and the pack stands up on it's own very well. I am a stagehand and frequently have AV gear that is a bit bigger than the little screwdrivers it seems most tool backpacks are made for, so the larger sized pockets are a breath of fresh air. I love the full front unzip of the pack, it makes it very easy to identify tools and equipment that you need and grab what you want without having to pull everything out. The attachment points on the outside are nice as well for tape, carbines, and gloves. It even fits PPE including a full hardhat in it. Side pockets are big enough for some odds and ends and even some snacks, and a water bottle fits in the one on the left too. The cell phone pocket also works perfectly to house a laser measure tool, however I would loved to have seen a hard cover exterior pocket for glasses and/or other valuables. Unfortunately, once loaded up with a Qbox, voltage detector, pliers, 11 in 1, c-wrench, focus tool, hammer, tape measure, poger, a 12v drill or 2, and other adapters/ odds and ends it gets very heavy (but it does all fit!). Remember it's starting weight is over 7lbs which is a lot for a backpack/ the equivalent of at-least a couple of those tools. The straps also leave much to be desired in terms of comfort. I did not find them particularly short as other reviewers have mentioned, but the padding is narrow (read: not thin, it is actually quite thick, but it is only in the center of the back-straps not the full width) and combined with no mid stabilizer strap or waist strap, it is very uncomfortable to wear for any period of time other than a quick walk from point A to point B. The extra depth of the pack also made it feel very back heavy when loaded, like I would fall over backwards in a slight gust. The zippers for the main compartment also are a little sticky at points when opening, but that would probably solve itself with some break in period. In all, I want to like it but am ultimately going to get a pelican case for my specific purpose.

Awesome backpack for IT/contractor pros
I work for a CCTV/Door Access company and this bag is great. Plenty of pockets for my termination tools, small parts, and screw drivers. I will warn you, if you fill this bag it will weigh almost 40lbs. It is quite large and holds all sorts of small electronics like multimeter, CCTV camera tool, screw driver kits, and other tools

Falling apart
I like the bag a lot. I didn't get to use it much to begin with due to job change. It sat in my garage not exposed to UV or any chemicals for almost 3 years. Then I found a need/use. It stores my laptop, iPad, and an assortment of hand tools (less than 20 lbs). It has been used for almost a year -5 days a week, and it had started to fall apart within 2months. The material is started to give between the zippers by the handle, and has started to come apart on the straps. I liked the Organization, the molded bottom, the larger pocket for laptop. I reached out to deadon tools, and got no response back.

Good for organizing your tools!
I find it a bit on the heavy side (without anything in it, it's almost 8lbs), but there are pockets everywhere and all of my most-needed tools fit into a nicely organized group now. I was SO tired of having to dig through my old bag and getting stabbed by my drill bits and pointy tools, so that I finally bought this, and boy am I happy to have it. The zippers are large and seem sturdy. No issues with the play of the teeth. The zipper length is still a bit "trained" to be inverted (I think the bag was stored unzipped and the zipper was just forced outward). It seems to be settling into the correct (easy-to-re-zip) path as I keep it zipped up most of the time now. The bottom is probably why this thing is so heavy. It's a nice thick rubber-type material and makes the bag resistant to things like mud, water, and oily products on the bottom. The fabric the rest of the bag is made of isn't thin, either. Good stitching and comfort-grip top handle. The shoulder straps are my favorite. I have to climb into attics and carrying a bag by the handles can be... awkward. Slip this bad boy on my back and both hands are free for climbing and crawling around without having to push or pick up and move a bag every few steps on ceiling beams. Don't drop it in the attic with a full load, though... it'll go right through the ceiling! Whoops.

Great interior, lackluster exterior
Awesome bag. Everything you want out of this type of bag as far as compartments and storage. Really like it except for a couple key flaws. First off I can't stand the big skull on the back, I know its subjective but its just a little too much, secondly and more important is the shoulder straps. It seems like they made an awesome back and really spent a lot of time designing the interior and then just didn't think much about the rest. These shoulder straps have a very short length of actual pad. While they are well padded they're just too small. From there the actual strap is just a skinny slick seat belt type strap. It is very long and just seems kind of cheap. I have consider cutting them off and putting on some Ogio shoulder straps but this seems like a lot of work. Aside from the dreadful straps the bag does not sit on my back very well. It rides in the center and the hard bottom digs in the center of my back. This may be different for other people though. I'm 6'2 and think someone shorter would do okay. I prefer the Milwaukee back pack for comfort ( I own it too) but the DOD bag is much better interior design for my profession.

Top Notch Tool Bag
Had my first one stolen but loved it so much bought a 2nd. I’ve had 2 Milwaukee bags before but this one kicks their ass. Love how it opens up big so you can easily access all your tools, even the ones sitting in bottom. I’d configure the straps for the tools a bit diff to suit my needs but I can make it work. LOVE IT

Great for telecom
Purchased this bag after scouring the different ones and reading the reviews. A little on the heavy side but should be expected when it holds EVERYTHING! I am a telecom tech and have alot of tools, and this bag holds them all securely and nicely. My 15" laptop fits with ease, has room for my buttset, cleaver and even belt pouch for when I need it. Outside pockets are very sturdy and protective. Zippers are heavy duty. This is a great bag

Nice
Got big enough compartments for my tools. But the base probably should be if a better material. Shows signs of wear and tear already
